Very good article, really looking forward to just seeing him suited up on the side lines. Do you think that he might get a bit of action on special teams? We have to play it right and Mangini knows what he has to do. Will also be interesting to see how Washington does as the lead runner agaisnt a defense which is renowned for stuffing the run.
I don't think they would chance it until they are sure his legs are in football shape. Last thing they need now is for him to pull a hammie.
Definately, i just didnt know because he has been training on his own over the hold out. Mangini lke he said will evaluate all players right up untill game time. I dont mind just looking forward to seeing him with his team mates.
It's really not important for Jones to play right now. He'd most likely see about 10-15 snaps which is not a whole lot. We just have to see when he starts practicing again.
Its best to get Jones back when he is fully fit and the risk of injury is minimal, and i doubt thats tonight, not inportant for him to be on the field tonight
"It's a fast defense," Vikings coach Brad Childress said. Thats a nice compliment for the Times Square D!
I think Childress was comparing his D to his Offense; not that it matters but it makes sense if that's what's interpreted. For Revis, I don't really think Mangini is sending him on the field. Obviously I have no idea or inside knowledge of this, but Revis is yet to be on the field with an NFL in full speed. If there is one similar comment most high prospects make when asked about adjusting to the NFL, it's the game speed. He's got some adjusting to do and returning a punt may not be smart and he got his playbook 2 days ago. I'd be surprised to see him in. And someone complained about Revis having earrings in both ears...ask a San Diego fan how they feel about LT having earrings; who cares?
We definitely need Jones to stay on the bench, the last thing we need is him suffering from a severe injury. I also think it's in the best interest of the team for Revis to sit out, no need to rush him into a system that he has basically no familiarity with.
Great read, thx for posting it WSW. I have to agree that Revis is just not ready yet. Next week should be his first game. Jones can stay away till week one for all I care at this point. Let him heal, he's ot all year to run through pain. I'm looking forward to seeing Brooks against his old team. Great chance for him to put on a show for the Vikes and his old bosses. Should be a fun one. :jets:
