Than it's no fun. Depends on what the staff thinks of Cutler. If they believe his hype is legit..that's good enough for me. Mangini and Schottenheimer both have a pretty good background evaluating players so if they believe he's legit go for it. Otherwise..I hate to say this..but if we can find another spot for Jones along the line(like Center where he'd be a perfect fit) Ferguson might be a good selection.
I voted D'Brick because I feel that he is a one in 5 year talent that will be our Franchise Left Tackle for the next 10 plus years and will boost our O line which i think we can all agree needs to be bolstered.
The reason I say no tradedowns is because just like in the draft say the jets don't find a partner to give them enough value for the 4 pick. There are a bunch of reasons why a trade doesn't go through. Not enough compensation, a team thinks that "their guy" will drop to them. etc. Thats why I wanted a realistic poll of what Jets fans would want to do with the 4th pick, Then see what they want when the combine is done and its close to draft day I want to compare the results. Should be interesting.
I should mention that i'm going to use this research in my History of modern sports class. So lets try to get as many people in here as possible. My teacher was like I don't know if Jets fans will help you out, he's a vikings fan, but i definetly think TGG posters will come through in the clutch.:up:

Hey Guys This Poll is assuming we can't trade down. So just pick who you would want at 4. The reason there is no trade down is that my teacher said it's hard to predict the two trade partners, since it would have to be to a specific team and thats hectic. So again this is just Preliminary late Feb who you want at 4 assuming we couldn't get a trade down partner.
you know what sucks by the time this teams back to reaching the playoffs this draft pick will prob be headed onto another team cause we cant afford him. like when we lost coles, then santana,watch when it comes time for vilmas new contract.

I don't agree. Most head coaches who are good ones will take their team to the playoffs by their first, second, or third year. Because of free agency the Jets should be right back in the playoff mix in 2007. If the Jets don't make the playoffs in 2006, 2007, or 2008 it will be due to a work stoppage, massive injuries (again), or because Eric Mangini blows as a head coach.
But if we deal down, 3/4 of these guys won't be available anyway. Also, the poll says what do we do at #4. Trade down (and trade up) are options.
alot depends on what else transpires between now and then.do we sign a vet qb (brooks) do we trade abe who did we cut what are specific needs?
Stop making so much sense, you're hurting him. With the 4th it should be D'Brick, no contest. Drafting Cutler is such a reach I would die laughing. Geez, 3 QBs in 5 picks- its like last years RBs.
