Hey, me and a few friends were thinking of attending the draft in april. Has anyone went before? When do you have to show up? Is it cool? Is it true that there are players who sign autographs? I just want a rundown cause we really want to go if it's worth going there.

    Thanks,

    ~Drew

the draft is a lot of fun....its free though and first come first serve. basically you need to get to the garden really really early to make sure you're in the front of the line.

it's pretty much a whole day affair and you'll be wiped out by the end of it but its a once a year thing. should be really exciting for the jets this year too.

What makes it fun though? Is it just hanging out, or are there things to do?

For what it's worth. I had friends go last year, they arrived by 5:45 AM and were still NOT there early enough. Apparently, everyone who attends on day 1 and 2 last year gets a ticket for admittance this year. So right off the bat, X amount of spots are already spoken for. Couple that with official NFL folks, players, coaches etc. At the end of the pecking order are the poor stiffs who wait in line on the morning of.

My advice, given the fact that we are drafting so early this year, and since the draft is in NY, get there well before 6AM.

    RE: 6

Yes, they're called Day 2 Diehards.

No matter how early you come on Day 1, you can expect to miss at least the top 10 picks.
