I don't even think a 2nd and 3rd would get it done even. The Saints are licking their chops at setting up a potential bidding war. If we want to get involved to drive up the price then so be it. The Eli comparisons are ridiculous - cause like someone already stated the Giants were way ahead of where we are right now. Someone else stated that we aren't making a big splash in FA cause we are going to build through the draft - preach on brother. If he falls to us great. If not then no love lost. Championships aren't won exclusively through franchise QB's. If so Dan Marino would have a record amount of rings right now. Stay patient folks. Enjoy all the rumors. Stop being so life or death as to our need for a franchise QB. Let our new regime build this team up a little before we start clamoring for a 'Herchel Walker' type trade that could come back to bite us.
The Jets are dumb to trade up to get Leinart at 2. They are sooo sure Leinart is going to be that much better than Young or Cutler that they're willing to give up two first round picks for him? If they really want a qb get Young or Cutler at 4 if available. Besides, the minute Leinart underthrows a ball or puts up a floater all these dumb ass jet fans are gonna start calling him Chad the 2nd and complain how he doesn't have any arm strength (when in reality either qb could make all the necessary throws on the football field anyway). Please Jets don't ignore the offensive line this year in the draft like we did last year....we'll be sorry.
Ramsey is backup insurance so you don't end up with Bolinger starting again. Pennington is a prayer at best. He had a weak arm before the surgury. The FO really should have let him walk. Moving up to Leinart is the smartest thing to do. Both from a Team standpoint and from a ticket standpoint. Expect it to happen.

That's just ridiculous. They aren't going to even draft a QB in the 1st round of this draft. While they have to be concerned about the injury prone Pennington, they dont KNOW that they haven't got a good QB in him, or Ramsey for that matter. Look for them to get a feel for the team this year, and consider a QB in 2007's draft. Cause Wayne says so...:jets:

Wait until 2007, come on man, I like Pennington and have supported him through the times he's been bad and hurt...But they have to draft the sucessor to Pennington this draft...Leinart or Cutler, Leinart more-so but i'd be content with Cutler.
Like you said in that other post...it would PROBABLY take more to get the #2 pick... I really hope this is what the Jets intend...go get Leinart!
