espn.com said there is a rumor that the jets will not accommodate abraham on a trade to atlanta.jets front office said that if atlanta cannot offer equal value for an all pro like abraham.then there is no deal. You know what a sticky is? One day off
Good, were not gonna trade him unless we get something back in return. Hell Abe if you want a long-term contract Seattle might be able to accomodate you. Tannenbaum has done well imo and he isnt giving in,something Bradway would do.
...and the media said last year that no one would sign TO to a long term deal. That's fine if don't sign him, but if he calls our bluff then they'd better be prepared to keep him on the team. Then we get nothing! He's an UFA next year. Please understand the ramafication of our FO not willing to get him out of NY. Philly was arrogant last year with TO and you see what it caused them.
Love the approach Tannenbaum has been going with. The "take no shit" policy. I'm loving this front office, and hopefully we can become a serious contender in the next few years.
Just as long as the front office stands firm and only makes a trade that benefits the organization first and abe second. if not tell him to suit up in the green and white.
the difference here though is we have other suitors. and I don't believe Seattle is the only one. Seattle will give us their 1st round pick, they aren't being cheap bastards, the Falcons are. Like I just posted in other thread, the Falcons were supposedley offering Abe 15 mil or so in guranteed money. They've shown he's worth 1st round material but don't want to pony up. Atleast Seatlle has. I think the Jets should wait out as long as possible. And if we really can't get anything better than we go with Falcons. The problem the jets have is that Abe has to agree with Seattle on terms of a contract. Seattle has plenty of money availble, they might be able to give more money to Abe. And I believe thats whats really at stake here. If Seattle offers a contraqct as good as or better than Falcons Abe will end up there.
well i think we can, but it might not be in our best interest to tag him year after year. he'll pay for it, but if he doesn't want to play for us he won't.
He will not get paid. However, they will still hold his rights for a season due to the fact that they franchise him. Peace out.
Why would Seattle sill be interested in a player and "pay him" when he doesnt even want to play for them... slowly starting to dislike him.
Aha!! Ya gotta love it. Have to applaud how this brand new regime gets into this "mess" if you will. 2 fresh faces and have no idea how to handle a situation like this from prior experience, and look, they're holding their ground and it's good.
He's never said he doesn't want to play for Seattle, he just prefers Atlanta since it's closer to home... Abraham did say he likes Seattle and it's a good organization.
