ALSTOTT TO END CAREER May not actually "retire" -- press conference set for 2 p.m Thursday, August 9, 2007 WDAE'S Steve Duemig is reporting that Mike Alstott will announce his football career is over today. There will be a press conference at 2 p.m. which WDAE will carry live. WDAE is reporting that Alstott may not actually "retire" but instead announced some sort of other arrangement. The team may put him on Injured Reserve, which would leave the door open for Alstott to play again. Head coach Jon Gruden was asked about Alstott after Thursday's walk-through at Disney and said there will be an announcement later in the day. We are reporting that Alstott did not think about retiring at all, but realized he was not really figuring into the Buccaneer offense this year. He had a great career...I still remember when they drafted him like it was yesterday.
yeah, i mean he had over 7300 yards and 72 TDs as a FB, that?s just huge. and i liked the intensity he played with. He?s a Hall of Famer without a doubt.
Well he is in the fantasy football hall of fame as a "touchdown vulture", too bad warrick dunn can't let it go.
