I agree with White Shoe.... Miller just can't catch punts. He's still shaky back there. On KO's, he has time to pick the ball up and run.... with punts, you have to catch them cleanly, and Miller just can't do it.... and that remains obvious in this year's camp. They ought to have a designated punt catcher.... then hand the ball to MIller....:drunk:

That's what I was about to suggest. Just put somebody back there to catch the ball and then have them hand the ball to Miller.

maybe we should keep McCareins afterall. he fields punts very well, but
always calls a fair-catch; he should field the punts and hand them to Miller.

    cheers

I love smith but he's still adjusting to a new positionAND he's taking snaps at QB as well so while he is still adjusting he's not 100% practicing and learning at WR. I want to see Smith get alot of opprtuity this year but I think it would be foolish to get rid of our 3rd best WR at the moment.

he was a poor PR last year, his explosiveness is gone- he returns punts like Wes Welker but he is a valuable guy to have around at least through camp to help the younger WRs.

Justin cannot catch punts, he's a great KOR but no way do I want to see him returning punts. I think it will be Stuckey.

They tried him in camp last year and he couldn't do it, he has been dropping punts this year in camp- the man is not an NFL PR.

Leon Washington should be returning punts. It gets him the ball in the open field where he's the most dangerous.

I think Dwight had a punt return average around 9 or 10 yards.
It would put him in the upper 1/4 of NFL punt returners last year if he would have had enough attempts to qualify. I think definetly still the speed but the question is can he stay healthy.
