The news page on the Jets website says that after giving the pick to the Redskins for Ramsey, Jets have seven selections remaining.

So here's where I'm fuzzy and would appreciate some help...

Is this the year we would get compensation picks for losing Lamont and Becht, or did we get those in the '05 draft?

Did we already get a pick for Jon McGraw or is it this draft and do we have to surrender a pick to the Cowboys for Pete Hunter?

    Thanks

we got a 7th for Mcgraw.. we didnt have to give up anything for hunter cause he didnt make the team (atleast i think.). we havent recieved the compensation yet but a rough draft(but fairley accurate) breakdown of the of picks has us recieving a 3rd rd pick for lamont. and 7th rd pick.

The compensation picks were not issued yet. We should get a pretty good pick for the loss of Lamont. As for the McGraw and Hunter draft picks i'm not too sure.

Nope.... just one comp pick.... we lost 4 qualifying players, and signed 3 qualifying players. That means we only get one comp pick. Who knew signing Barry Gardner would cost a 4th round comp pick! (*&^%$*%

Last analysis I saw predicted a 3rd round compensatory (possibly a 4th instead) and a 7th round non-compensataory. You're also forgetting the 4th round for Herm.

    7 original draft picks + 1 pick or Herm + 1 pick for McGraw - 1 pick for Hunter - 1 pick for Ramsey = 7 picks

This does not include, obviously, the picks from Abe or the comp picks.

The comp picks depend on the contracts signed and playing time for players as well as the number of qualifying players signed/lost. But I am not sure of exact formula. I figure between 2-3 picks.

The experts predict one comp pick for the jets in r3 or maybe r4 and a non-comp additional pick after r7. Apparently.

We got a pick for Jon McGraw and didnt have to surrender one for Pete Hunter. Everyone seems to forget that we traded a 7th rounder for Steve Morley in the middle of the season.

Hunter is a 2007 6th rnd draft choice(info is on Great Blue Draft report)

Morely noone knows if its a 2006 pick or 2007 pick but it is a 7th rnder.

and yes we will only get one compensation pick(3rd or 4th rnd)
the 7th rnd we will get also becuase, if there isnt 32 compensation picks the will give the rest to the bottom teams. There are about 24 comp picks predicted so the bottom eight teams will get an extra 7th rnd pick.

damm its been a while since I posted on a message board. I forgot to say what picks we have....

    we have the #4 overall
    one 2nd rnder
    our own 3rd + a predicted 3rd compensation
2 4ths(our own and Herm compensation)
    1 5th
1 6th our own was traded for Ramsey and we got a pick for McGraw
2 7ths? I am unsure we have our own + compensation but Morely? if the moreley trade was this yr it will be our own pick since we cant trade compensation picks

Miguel has been relaying the posts of an extremely astute football fan named AdamJT13 (I believe that's it) to TGG.com for a few years now, and every time I see some of his predicitions they end up being correct. This guy says we are getting a third in compensation for Jordan and the rest of the players lost and gained through free agency cancelled each other out, or something along those lines. It's probably a safe bet..

yeah those guys are pretty dead on. I laughed when people we killing their predictions. Miquel has a great information and Adam I know from message boards.
But a 3rd rnd for Lamont? I wont give up my hopes, but we are definitely getting a 3rd or 4th. Apparently Adam has almost predicted the last 5 yrs of compensation picks correctly( I guess 1 or 2 wrong a yr).

But I saw Joe Lunardi finally get 2 wrong so who knows....

If you look on the official Jets website, in the article that discusses Ramsey, it says currrently the Jets have 7 draft picks.

That is not true. The Hunter trade was not conditional on him making the roster. Dallas received the pick.

compensation picks will be awarded in 3 weeks(usually 3 weeks before the draft thats why we dont know what they will be)

    we definitely have rnd 1, rnd 2, rnd 3, rnd 4, rnd 4 , rnd 5, rnd 7
yes the Jets site is right but compensation hast been awarded yet.

But Morely might be this yrs pick(as I said noone is sure)

    Very close

    we got a 7th for McGraw..not a 6th.

so no sixth round but 2 sevenths.

And no compensation for Pete Hunter

    8 picks total

Here is a good link on all this..just needs to be updated to reflect Friday's Ramsey trade.

Not true. Go to the official jets page, when they talk about Ramsey, the article states the Jets have 7 picks. The Hunter trade was NOT conditional, Dallas has the pick. Morley is for next year I believe

    7+1 for Herm + 1 for McGraw - 1 for Hunter - 1 for Ramsey = 7 picks

Last I heard it was a 6th round pick in the 2007 draft we gave up for Hunter when we cut him. Would have been a different selection had he made the roster.
