This isn't the Met's year. I'm not sure if Minaya understands the concept of "youth movement" but the Mets aren't adhering to it. I think the Braves have become a real threat to the Mets with their moves before the deadline. The Mets signed another older player to fill in for a older player. Minaya had better re-examine his decision-making process or this team will become a old-folks home for Latin Players.
With whatever problems we have, we have the best record in the NL. It could still be our year. Minaya told all teams that Milledge, Gomez, Martinez, and Pelfrey were all off-limits. The two prospects we gave up for Castillo were nothing special by all accounts. Don't really see what he did wrong.
Absolutely ridiculous call. That's absurd. This umpire, who Gary says called last night's game, should be fired. No excuse for this.
I think Anderson starting was a fiiine decision. 7-5 Mets. Do you get the feeling this one's gonna take a while?
Someone must have told Gary to chill out with the home run calls. First Castro's he just let it go until it was definitely over the fence and Marlon cleared the wall pretty easily and he didn't get excited until it was definitely over. I would much rather have him calm and the ball going out than losing his mind at a ball that doesn't reach the warning track.
