49ers frank gore breaks bone in hand...the big fantasy one pack morency injures knee...more serious than earlier reported skins tackle samuels is out 4 weeks pats chad scott- out for season just 4 i saw this morning...
I wonder how bad Gore is, cuz that is bound to shake things up in teh fantasy world. Morency also has it's effects on fantasy. If he's hurt badly it means Jackson will be the undisputed back in Green Bay. But I could also see them picking up Corey Dillon or someone else.
i hope morency is alright, i really wanted to see morency and jackson i think that would be a great 1-2 punch kinda like a tiki barber/brandon jacobs or even a leon washington/thomas jones kind of duo. gore will be fine
They said Gore should be fine by the first regular season game..even before but they will hold him out of the preseason.
gore may be fine, but he had his share of fumbles last season(especially on the goalline) and a hand injury doesnt help
i heard chester taylor got carted off the practice field....anyone see anything on that? that would be huge for fantasy...
Yea, something with his shoulder, but I read it wasn't too serious and he should be fine within a couple weeks. Either way, I want nothing to do with any Minnesotta RBs
Chargers? WR Eric Parker gets surgery at his toe and is out for 10 weeks. Maybe we could shop them JMac?!?
Titans rookie DE Johnson out for season with ACL injury Associated Press Updated: August 4, 2007, 4:35 PM ET http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2961326 NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee rookie defensive tackle Antonio Johnson will have season-ending surgery on his left knee within the next week. "We felt he had a chance to help us," coach Jeff Fisher said Saturday. "It's an unfortunate [situation] ... There will be no issues as far as returning for the offseason program." Johnson hurt the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during a drill Wednesday and hadn't practiced since. The 6-foot-3, 310-pound tackle was the Titans' fifth-round draft pick out of Mississippi State in April, and he was seen as a player who could help improve a rushing defense that allowed 144.6 yards per game.
HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!! a rookie too..........at this rate, in his career, he'll play 0 games.........™
Why would you find that funny? This kid probably just lost his NFL career. Oh wait...forgot you're still combing the peach fuzz on your lip.
Why would you say that? He should be ready for training camp next year. He was a draft pick, not a bum off the street.
I guess I should have said "might have" lost his career depending on how serious his injury is. I still think laughing at an injury is rude but that's just me.
Arthroscopic surgery for Stanton leaves Lions thin at QB By Len Pasquarelli ESPN.com (Archive) Updated: August 3, 2007, 1:33 PM ET http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2960070 The Detroit Lions have lost the services of rookie quarterback Drew Stanton for the entire season. Stanton was placed on injured reserve Friday, just days after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery. Stanton is considered by many in Detroit as the team's quarterback of the future. He was a second-round draft choice last April, the 43rd player selected overall. Stanton experienced swelling in his right knee Sunday and underwent the arthroscopic procedure the next day. Lions officials originally felt that he would probably miss 2-4 weeks. Upon further consideration, however, the team felt it would be more prudent for Stanton to take the season to rehabilitate the knee and to come back strong in 2008. The loss of Stanton leaves the Lions with very little experience behind starter Jon Kitna. Dan Orlovsky and J.T. O'Sullivan remain as the backups. Kitna took every snap for Detroit in 2006, the first quarterback in team history to ever do so. The Lions traded backup Josh McCown to Oakland during the draft. One of the most athletic quarterbacks in the 2007 draft class, Stanton combined good size (6-feet-3?), speed (4.75 seconds in the 40) and arm strength to become a highly regarded prospect. His 64.2 percent career completion mark is the best in Spartans' history and second best in Big 10 history. A starter for the final 2? years of his college career, Stanton completed 543 of 846 passes for 6,524 yards, with 42 touchdown passes and 28 interceptions. He also rushed 332 times for 1,512 yards and 15 touchdowns. Stanton appeared in 36 games with 29 starts.
stanton injury sucks for the lions, bc if they suck yet again...they cant even look forward to some young guy playing the final few games and getting that glimpse of the future
Kitna can hold the fort. CJ still will probably need time to develop so its fine for Stanton to take a year off. Let him rehab until there's a defense to avoid shootouts.
