Lastings Darnell Milledge AKA the King of All Bling: Born April 5, 1985. Lastings was expected to be a top pick in the 2003 amateur draft, but allegations of a consensual sexual encounter with a 15 year old girl dropped him to the 12th spot where the Mets drafted him. L-Millz signed a deal with a 1.9 million dollar bonus, and begain his minor league careerer. Battling injury problems, L-Millz quickly rose to AAA in 2006 after hitting .337 at the AA level. May 30, 2006 was his Major League debut. He went 1 for 4 with a double. L-Millz was only 21 years old at the time. After going back and forth between the big club and AAA, Lastings finished the year hitting .241 with 4 HR and 22 RBI in 56 games in the Majors. On June 4, 2006 L-Millz hit his 1st Major League home run. The run tied the game in the 10th inning, and Lastings made national headlines as he high fived fans down the line at Shea. In late September, Billy Wagner (allegedly) put a sign in his locker that said "Know your place, rook!". Lastings started 2007 on the Major League roster, but was sent down to AAA in early April. After battling a foot injury, Lastings has returned to the big club to flash his bling and hit home runs. When not playing baseball or flashing bling, El Presidente Millz raps with childhood friend Manny D. Lastings dropping of phat rhymes on an unsuspecting public drew criticism from overweight, blading, aged, white sports writers who were confused by Lastings flow and fresh lyrics. Sample some of L-Millz artistic efforts here: http://www.souljaboirecords.com Lastings also kicks Chuck Norris ass. In his last game (as of this writing) L-Millz dropped a 3 for 3 appearance on the Pirates, and hit a HR, and tallied 3 RBI. For the season, in 13 games he is hitting .262 with 2 HR and 11 RBI. As Manny D would say: "Yeah, L-Millz writing checks/but I told him to hold mine 'cause I'm not done yet"
As a Yankees fan I would buy a Milledge jersey if it said L-Millz on the back. L-Millz for President:grin:
haha, i dont hate Milledge...i really am indifferent to him, but it looks like hes trying to be the next outkast from this picture
Agreed. His rookie mistakes were made last season in terms of showing up the other pitcher. He dropped the dreadlocks and is a changed man.
Another cool lasting fact I learned tonight being at the game, Lastings wears the socks/stirrups instead of the long pants. +1 for L-Millz.
He actually switches back and forth between stirrups and long pants. Same as David Wright and a couple of other Mets.
this kid has done nothing wrong yet all muts fans pile on him for a bunch of minor nonsense. I guess racism has nothing to do with it, right Metsfans?
