  2. Id imagine he'd be brought in on a try out basis as an OLB pass rush specialist. He'd be competing w/ Wadsworth and Bowens.

you dont bring in a guy like him to do an experiment.

  5. If he comes cheap, why not? It's all about competition. He'd most def. come in hungry, and he is obviously talented.

He is going to have a really tough time beating out Kimo Von Hoelfen.

If you have Andre Wadsworth in camp, that's pretty much admitting you could use a guy like Rice if the details can be worked out.

But unlike Wadsworth, Rice is not going to come in for a base offer, he's going to get a nice multi-year commitment. I just can't see us signing him.

if healthy he can still get 9 sacks, as well as being a leader for the D-line. His experience, knowledge and intangibles are invaluable to any team. Its just his health and price that are the problem.

Unlike Wadsworth, Rice is likely to sack the QB and the Jets sorely need a pure pass rusher. I'd bring him in with an incentive-laden contract. The Jets have the money.

Wadsworth has a lot less mileage on him and hasn't been injured in 5 years or so..:)

Been one of the top 5 sack masters in the NFL every season since 2002 with the exception of last year when he was hurt most of the year.

At 33, he has 2 or 3 very productive seasons left in his tank. Still one of the premier pass rushers in the game.

If the price is not ridiculously high, then we have to take a chance on him.

Yeah, I don't see us locking up a bunch of dough on an old fart...I think we know better now, but we have plenty of money to throw at him for a year...although I'd like to waste the rest of our cap on o-line. Besides, I think the best scenario would be giants get rice and we get strahan...he's a beast.

If he got cut just because of his problems with Gruden that's one thing. If he showed up to camp out of shape and they didn't think he could play any more that's another. Certainly worth a tryout to determine which it is.
