The only way I would draft Davis is if we get the #15...but I think he'll be gone by then

This is why I don't read these boards too much anymore...someone is always ready to hand you your hat.

I agree. Leonard Pope from GA will probably still be on the board in the 2nd. He is huge and has great hands. he impressed a lot of scouts at the combine and might go in the first. I'd take Pope over Davis.

...I wouldn't be upset in any way if we took VD. He's an impact player for sure. Obviously, other teams that feature a dominant TE can be effective in opening the field up for lesser talented players. I do think a guy like Davis would help immensely taking the pressure off whoever is the QB, plus Coles. There's just no way to take him at 4...

the jets are idiots if they look past all the offensive linemen and go for Vernon Davis before they address the line. I know Jolley sucked last year but listen we have to bite the bullet with him at least for the time being. What the hell will a great TE do for us if we have no line? This is THE draft for a team to begin rebuilding its line.

Yknow, considering how much success the Chargers offense had when Schottenheimer was their QBs coach, and they had Antonio Gates catching 90 balls, I think its safe to say that Schottenheimer is going to be lobbying for Tennenbaum to get him a top TE. If we ended up getting the 15 from the skins and Vernon Davis were there, id bet money the Jets would draft him.

While the Jets don't "need" him, I wouldn't complain if the drafted him, so long as it was't at the #4 position. A weapon like that is always a welcome addition to an offense.
