I wouldn't be surprised seeing Cotchery/ Coles. Coles most likely is the better number one just because he can burn them downfield. Isn't there competition at #2 CB and FS as well?
I havent wrote the Defense position battles yet...thats either tomorrow or tuesday, whenever I get the chance
I can see McCareins and Dwight both being cut depending on how they do in camp or how their competition does. I also don't see us carrying two active fullbacks unless one of them can play well on special teams.
And at our weakest positon, everyone who startet last year has no worrys? Moore and Clement? And cuz Kendall bitching around, the depthchart-spot behind him at LG should be the most interresting battle, cuz it?s beside FB the only battle, where a starting Job is on the line.
I'd add in LG with Pete Kendall vs Adrien Clarke vs Adrian Jones. Edge: Clarke at the moment, with Kendall in the biggest doghouse a Jet has been in since Hugh Douglas in 1997. Douglas was a much better player than Kendall (or his competition at the time) however he got run out of town anyway based on attitude problems. I think there's more competition than anybody realizes over the tailback spot too. Behind a strong line it would be Thomas Jones job, but behind the Jet's picket fence Leon Washington has a lot of play in him. Speedy and shifty is going to be a better option than strong and straightforward.
I would also like too see Bender beating Clements for the RT spot in TC. Bender is a nice prospect who I hope doesn't need a lot of time to adjust.
I tried to discuss the possibility of Tui beating out Clemens on another board and I was blown off and told I was crazy. I can't for the life of me figure out why anyone would have Clemens as a lock for anything. He's completely unproven and in his spot duty (which I won't judge him on) he was terrible.
There is one very simple reason, his competition is proven. Unfortunately he has proven to be a horrible QB, therefore Clemens wins by default.
If we can judge Tui on what he did in Oakland, I think Clemens spot duty should be fair game as well. In that case, they both suck. I'm not a Tui fan at all, but to crown Clemens the successor based on his competitions performance on a horrible team seams like jumping the gun a bit to me.
Im doing the offensive line separately....its a matter that needs to be addressed on its own...that will be after the defensive article
you know, this is gonna sound dumb, but at some point here dont we all..... ive been playing ncaa football 07 lately (preparing for 08s release tomorrow!!!;-) ) and ive been playing a dynasty with clemson. as stuckey was on clemson, and he wore the number 2, i have to say.....he was awesome in the game. rated pretty highly, and has great hands in the game.... now im no college football guru (although with rutgers history, how into it can you be?), and wouldnt pretend to know shit about the clemson football program, but how could he be a 7th round pick? he was a top reciever in the ACC (from what ive read up on). im hoping he sticks (no pun intended, well, maybe a little)....
^ Injuries. I've said it a few times already, if Stuckey can remain uninjured and learns the playbook, he will surprise a few people this year....
Stuckey will learn the playbook, and has all the ability in the world. If he stays healthy he has "day one of the draft" type potential.
lets hope he stays on the field...Chad could really use an arsenal of WRs to throw to....like some other QB in the AFC East....
This has been my biggest concern all off season. Moore sucked last year (and 2005) and yet nobody has been brought in even as competition. I really hope someone emerges in camp, Moore is not starter material.
