Good thing too cause this Reyes kid is tough. I haven't been paying attention to his season so far, he's gotta be having a cy young winning type of season going right?
YES! another Frank Thomas at-bat. Does anyone really care. The breaking into games to show at-bats was cool during the Sosa/McGwire HR race, but that's about it.
It really is unbelievable how my teams make mediocre players look like hall of fame type players. And I don't know which is worse, when the Jets make some awful QB look unstoppable or when the Mets make a mediocre pitcher look unhittable. I mean Reyes is averaging 6 IP, has a 6.64 ERA coming in and has given up 2 hits, 2 walks, and thrown 71 pitches through 5. What the hell is going on with this offense?
Ryan Howard strikes out with men on 1st and 3rd and two outs in the bottom of the 8th. Going to the 9th, Reds 7 Phils 6.
damn, I was hoping for an offensive onslaught. anyway, phillies look like they're going to lose. we extend lead
It was a shortened game, but still interesting that no one mentioned that this was #297 for Glavine. Oh, BTW, who was the Met in tonight's lineup with the highest batting average? That would be Tom Glavine (.321).
Interesting but irrelevant stat. 321 average would put him at or among top hitters on any team in baseball.
Plus, it's batting average. Here's a better one: Glavine has a higher OPS on the year then 3 guys in the starting lineup last night for the Mets and a better OBP then 5.
