Looks like he failed to overhaul a 1 shot defecit once again. I love Tiger, but this is becoming a big thing.
Yes, it should, definitely. I also shutter at this; If he should go down this coming year - and a pray not, we are doomed. There is just no battle proven commodity behind Pennington.
the point I see is that CHAD was still throwing floaters and helicopters in the recent OTA's. What will he do when it is cold and windy in dec in the Meadowlands against great defenses that are rushing him up the middle?
The same thing he always does. Nothing. As the article states there was firepower needed to catch the Patriots when we got behind and he was not able to rally the troops. Same Qb different year. If we don't play perfect and win 14-10 we will loose to the teams we need to beat to get to the big show. End of story.
Yes I call them flutter balls. Also his ball has very little zip when throwing to the sidelines. I think most Chad lovers on this board cannot seperate Chad's loyalty to the team & his abilities as QB nor can they understand why the ones who question Chad's abilities just cannot accept him with all his warts. You know a really funny stat is that Chad & Tom were drafted in the same year & Tom is 1 year younger then Chad & owns 3 SB rings at this time & CP owns zero SB rings. There have to be reasons why Tom is a 3 time champ & Chad is a zero time champ. Probably come down to there abilities I would suspect.
O lineman - supplemental draft Saw this today... The Ravens are scheduled to attend University of Nebraska offensive tackle Chris Patrick?s campus workout today. A 6-foot-4, 300-pounder who reportedly has 5.1 speed in the 40-yard dash and projects to guard, Patrick?s application for the supplemental draft was recently approved by the league office. Other teams expected to attend the workout include: the New York Giants, New York Jets, Philadelphia Eagles, Kansas City Chiefs, Minnesota Vikings and Miami Dolphins.
As a smart Football fan I can not see how any Jet Fan can defend Chad anymore. How many times do we have to loose to the good teams the same way for the light bulb to go on. Unfortunately we play in an Afc where Mediocre Qb play will not get it done anymore.
There is always the possibility that you just aren't a smart football fan. Hard to come to grips with I am sure for you at least, but still yet a valid possibility.
Who really cares what they rate who? That has absolutely no concrete evidence that your hate for Pennington is justified. Bottom line is that the coaching staff and front office believe he is the guy to lead this offense, and given the work they have done over the last year I believe that if there was a reason for them to be concerned they would have done something about bringing in someone else to lead the team in the meantime. But they haven't. Pennington while not having a stellar season last year, was the difference between us being a playoff team and not.
He is still a quality QB and certainly as good or better than most and until we have some one better why wouldn't you defend the starter on the team? While I would love an upgrade at QB, I don't see where we have one. I'm not a big believer that Chad will be stronger this year but a Chad supporter can deffinitely make an optomistic argument that a full off season without rehab should help him. While I don't think his arm will be stronger, I hope he doesn't go through a stretch with a tired arm like he appeared to last year. That alone should help. Maybe we get a little bit lucky and Revis or Harris or Brad Smith turn into dominate game changing players? That's the kind of thing this team really needs to take an imediate step up. Unfortunately, I don't see an upgrade at QB on the team or in the imediate future so we just have to be patient and hope that Chad takes a little step up and the players around him take a big step up.
Why did you say that. If anybody says anything bad about Saint Pennington they are bashed on this board. The sad thing is there is nobody left to bash because everybody analyst for every paper or website has said Chad is not the answer.
I think your selling Chad short. He is limited in his physical skills but comparitively he is still better than most NFL QB's. Whether the team can win against a really tough D with his physical limitations is to me a real question. I think calling him mediocre based on the current QB talent in the NFL is selling him short.
What we see is what we get from Chad. The players around him will have to Step up. Chad is not capable of stepping up against the big boys. Im done trying to tell myself something that is not true. Oakland, Pitt and Numerous games against the Pats have sealed his fate as far as im concerned.
People seem to be big on Polls and Rankings on this board. Cbs Sportsline rated the top 50 players and 3 qb's were in the top five. Brady, Manning and Palmer.Chad at best is as good as Big Ben and Mcnair. By the end of next year Cutler, Rivers and probably Losman will be ranked higher than him. At least two of them will be higher than Chad. With that said we will have a Qb who can not do a thing for us if we have to go blow for blow in the playoffs. The Nfl Qb's are mediocre but there are at least 5-7 in the Afc who are better or at least as good as Chad with better teams. All of the Qb's on this list do not need their defense to keep the opponet under 14 points to win. Do you really think we have a chance with a Qb who has to have the defense play near perfect every game for him to win?
I look at the QB situation very different than you do. I think the drop off after Manning, Brady and Palmer is a little like going off a cliff. I like Big Ben and Cutler's potential a lot, McNair I loved but he is done. Even if you throw Lossman and Rivers into the equation, you're still talking 6 guys out of 16.
