Trent Green is, to be honest, a LOSER...the guys throws for more yards than almost everyone, every year, and his teams never win... We have the #2 offense and defense in the division...period... Usually JAWS is good, and pro-jets, but last night i was very shocked at that bullshit... you think that's his real opinion, or a consensus of all the other producers and such?
This is how i see it.... 1. Jets 2. Bills 4. Dolphins 4. Pats Defense 1. Jets 2. Dolphins 3. Bills 4. Pats
I like Jaws and am definitely surprised to see him rank us so poorly especially after acquiring T.J. Chad didn't have a great year/coming off an injury and we went 10-6. Now he is healthy and has a good running game for the first time in years and we rank them dead last on O with all our other teams in our division bringing new blood up to speed? I doubt all the analysts share Jaws opinion but hey, we can all look at this a year from now and see if he saw something we didn't or he is just off base.
I saw the segment in question and at first I got mad, then I realized that we should let the analysts put us down. Then when we play and we start racking up ridiculous wins, people will start saying "wow, I shouldve seen this coming." I like Jaws but we're definitely the 2nd best Offense in the division and i'd have to say 2nd or 3rd fighting with Miami for that spot.
I have to agree. I absolutely disagree with his rankings, but I like him and respect his opinion for the most part. Here's how I see it: Offense 1. Pats - added more weapons to an already formidable O. Not much to argue here. 2. Jets - Balanced recieving duo, a RB who just gets the job done (like Curtis), and one of the smartest QBs in football. Limited by run blocking and weak QB arm, but strengthened by a variety of weapons at WR and out of the backfield and the most creative O coordinator in the league. 3. Bills - Losman's numbers are better than most think, but I personally feel that they're a bit inflated from Evans, who it becoming a top 5-10 reciever in the league. Overhauled O-line with a rookie RB. I see it as if you shut down Evans, you shut down the O. 4. Phins - Green's an upgrade, but losing McMichael hurts. I don't see Ginn doing much his first year because he's just so raw and doesn't have the physical build to succeed on athleticism alone. Brown's good but their O-line isn't great and Brown needs to stay healthy for them to do much. Chambers is the only guy who thus far has been a consistent threat. Defense 1. Pats - Have been up there since they made their first SB run. Thomas helps, but a potential hold out from Samuels hurts. Probably needs it's core rebuilt in the next 2-3 years with a good amount of aging vets. However, they'll still definitely be a force this year. 2. Phins - Solid but aging defensive core, like the Pats. They'll probably hold up for the next 2 years, but they also need an overhaul soon. For this season though, they should be tough. 3. Jets - A young core that will have had a year under their belts in the 3-4. Some guys still seem to be playing out of position (Robertson in the middle the most obvious one), but there was marked improvement in the second half of last year. Harris may make an impact, but don't expect Revis to do anything special until at least next year. However, expect a good amount of improvement over last year. 4. Bills - Not bad but not great. No one really stands out, but they seem to work well as a unit. Would probably be ranked 2 or 3 in any other division, but I just believe the AFC East to be a very strong division defensively.
BEST OFFENSE? Jaworski Says: 1. Patriots 2. Dolphins 3. Bills 4. Jets BEST DEFENSE? Jaworski Says: 1. Patriots 2. Jets 3. Dolphins 4. Bills WIN DIVISION? 1. Patriots 2. Jets 3. Dolphins 4. Bills SportsNation Says: 86% - Patriots 5% - Dolphins 5% - Jets 4% - Bills SportsNation Says: 66% - Patriots 22% - Dolphins 6% - Jets 6% - Bills SportsNation Says: 81% - Patriots 9% - Jets 6% - Dolphins 4% - Bills holla!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm probably a little closer to Jaws' ranks. Obviously the Pats are #1 in both respects. But this is the year the Jets defense makes the jump to #2. We brought in good role players, and guys like Vilma and Rhodes are a year older and a year smarter. On the other hand, I might be inclined to give the Buffalo offense the nod over the Jets. This might rub off as wacky, but I think Marshawn Lynch is the best running back in the AFC East from day one, or at least tied with Ronnie Brown. Yes Thomas Jones is solid, but the other two have much greater potential to break a game open. Losman-to-Evans is a constant deep threat that we simply do not have.
He's probably referring to the quick-strike potential of those offenses. Our offense is more of a lumbering, methodical style offense, but Miami and Buffalo's offenses have more potential for either large gains or quick scores. Ours just simply isn't built that way right now.
I'm not a homer and realize we are not a super level team at this stage..but could someone explain to me like national sports fans have SUCH little respect and appear to hate the Jets? These numbers are just shocking to me..
marshawn lynch was a reach at best where they took him and has proven ABOSLUTELY NOTHING, to be even mentioned in the same breath as ronnie brown or thomas jones. Nobody from cal ever comes into the league and makes an impact there all system players. Current NFL Players * J.J.
