Cool. According to some obscure offseason football publication possibly at one time widely available in Australia, the Patriots reign of evil is about to end. I say its about time. Speaking of time, raise your hand if you religiously monitor all the bad things fans of other teams say about the Jets? Carry on.
In the greater spectrum of the football world, the reign is over. Like the Steelers, Packers, 49ers, Cowboys and Redskins, dynasty's only last 3-5 years as superbowl winners. Yes they can win the division and have a 1st round bye, but winning it all never seems to happen again. Its been that way since the Superbowl era. Its the way the football Gods allow things to happen. The Patriots may continue to win the Division and yes they are the better team still, but to win more rings may not happen if the pattern of the NFL continues its course. Its just how it works in the NFL.
You know, DW, you're pretty good at generalizing the board here and then pussying out and stating that well-thought-out threads are the only ones worthy of attention, and yet I can go over to Patriots Planet and find anti-'Skankees' sentiments on a football message board in Jets threads that have nothing to do with the Yankees or baseball in an era where the Sox have won a championship more recently than the Yankees. I don't even follow baseball that much anymore, which is why something like that stands out to me. Spare me your hypocrisy, you're going to find anti-Patriots sentiments on a Jets board, get over it.

You weren't singling anyone out, you were generalizing (i.e. 'Stay classy, Jets fans!' :wink so he followed your generalizations with another valid generalization. You in particular don't matter when you decide to lump a bunch of Jets fans together, only Pats fans lumped together matter. And I don't see you cutting on people on the Planet for bringing up the Yankees in a Jets thread, wherein lies the hypocrisy.
Well, here is why I generalized. If I see someone post crap, and then the witch hunt begins, and no one calls 'em out, but in turn feed the fire, then they are guilty by association IMHO. That is not to say they need to be called out in turn, but because I call them out I am the azz-hole. And on a Jets board I get that. But I won't let that stop me from calling a lame thing lame. And I am called out for the same on a Pats board. Fine by me. We have plenty of azz-hole fans for both the Sox and Pats. But if see posts talking about how for example "the Jets suck and last year was a fluke and they will fail, etc.", I'd call them out on that too. I am well aware that I am not popular here, but I still like the place, and until I am chased away I will continue to post. And just to be clear, I need to grow a pair and I am a hypocrite. Did I miss anything? I am sure I did.
I stand behind that post. Does "unoriginal bastard" count as trash talk? In context to the point made I don't agree. Why don't you also dig up all the football talk I do there, in fact praising the NYJ? I guess that would make your argument null and void.
I'll tell you, from my perspective, this place used to be far more tolerant. Now I can go to any page and see anti-Pats stuff. There might as well be a thread that says Pats fans eat poo-poo and Belichick is responsible for WWII and actually see people piling on. And far more often than not, see others not call them out like they used to. Maybe it's the off-season, maybe it's a new breed of fan here, maybe I am a jackass. Whatever it is though, it can make me want to type a few bad things every once and a while.
Oh, please, you're one of the more popular non-Jets fans on the board and have been given carte blanche for quite some time; you're only being called on this stuff because you haven't been called on it that much and it's becoming more frequent and it's getting old. Nobody's chasing you away, that is what is done to the morons, a group that you don't belong to. BTW, 95% of what is posted on message boards is lame crap but some of it starts some excellent discussion; it's when it offends your favorite team that you decide to chime in. The rational posters skip over the lame crap and try to keep the valid discussions going, or start a good discussion out of the lame crap... but there are plenty of people on this board that call the lame crap when they see it. Nobody with an ounce of wit thinks the Pats aren't a favorite to win it all this season, but we take what we can get because most of us know that any team can win on Sunday and we are tired of the Patriots love affair in the media.
