Then donate part of your income.

A million dollars is the BIGGEST SINGLE DONATION THEY HAVE GOTTEN. Where's Fred Wilpon's half-million dollar donation then?

Finding a way to criticize Steinbrenner for donating a million dollars to a cause he has absolutely nothing to do with is absolutely ridiculous and laughable.

I was hoping you were joking, but apparently you're not.

Are you out of your mind?
    It's A MILLION DOLLARS.

So what if the Yankees are worth a billion. If he sold the team, he'd get the money.. well.. about 600 million of it.

He doesn't have a billion laying around in his checking account. The sum of everything in his possession is valued at that level. I've heard over the last 5-7 years, the team has actually operated at a loss because of the massive payroll. Sure he's got money, but the comparison you're making is absurd.

Even if we assumed the Yankees were operating at a profit, say he personally profits 10 million per season. A million would then be a tenth of his salary.

I bet a tenth of your salary is a good bit more than 1,000.

Clueless Joe can't use his 'plug and play formula' anymore. As a result, he is completely lost. No more plugging in an all star at every position, an all star starter every night, and then a 7th, 8th and 9th inning specialist. Now with interleague play, Clueless Joe sometimes even has to try to execute a double switch or a sac bunt from time to time! The sad truth is the game has become too complicated for clueless joe now that he can't just sleep in the dugout and have don zimmer make decisions for him.

Adios, Clueless Joe! We'll miss you!

Steinbrenner has helped olympic athletes and others too poor to attend college on their own his whole life. He has always insisted on anonymity. Any celebration of this was at the behest of VT and not him.

If he insists on anonymity, how do you know about it?

"To believe the Yankees still have hope for a postseason berth is to believe that every team in baseball remains alive, since their 13-1/2-game deficit is tied for the largest in the majors." NY Daily News

Great quote but not entirely accurate. The Yanks are 7.5 back for the WC, while KC, Texas, Houston, St. Louis, Washington and Cincy all have bigger hills to climb.

Right. Although it seems as if the Yanks got real old real fast, they do have much more talent on their team then, say, KC or TB and there's no knowing if they'll suddenly turn back into their old selves sooner or later.

Wow you just have so much hate for the Yankees it blinds your view of reality. 1st with the Lidle thing and now with this. When you wanna post something about the Mets it's generally pretty good but when you post something about the Yankees it makes you look like and idiot.

And now I am not a journalist, I wrote and article that was published.... that in my mind does not make me a journalist but just a published writer.

Rich. When I am on here, riding the Yankees or George, its for my own entertainment, seeing how some Yankee fans are so easily bent out of shape. My apologies for that. As for Cory Lidle. I am very sorry about his passing, especially for his wife and loved ones. That aside, if he was my own brother, I would still be pissed at him for not being more careful and depriving his loved ones of his life.
