It is a pretty well known fact that the KC defense was holding them back from taking it to the next level. The offense was great, the ST pretty good, but no defense. Sounds like he's telling it like it is/was.

Is this why, in the off-season, the Chiefs drafted two DTs and did nothing else for their defense?

And soon it will be a team with a decent defense, no offense, and most importantly, no balls. How are you going to win a championship that way? I don't know how. Maybe there's a way, but I don't know it.

So Vermeil gets the credit for making the playoffs then?

It was a typical Herm team IMO. Conservative, run-first offense with no big plays and bad coaching. One and done in the playoffs.... sounds alot like a Herm team to me.

The Ravens did it, albeit their defense was a tad more than decent. :)

I would throw out the luck factor. So many ppl think Herm is absolutely horrible, nonetheless he has managed to find the postseason 4 times with 2 different teams. Luck has gotten teams to the SB before and it doesn't hurt to have some to win it. Personally, I'd rather do it another way than hope luck is on my side.

I wasn't making a case for whether they were heading in the right direction. I simply stated the fact that it was OBVIOUS to many that KC's defense was holding them back, and Herm simply was stating that.

I guess the playoff wins over teams like the Colts and Chargers were not allowed to be counted, huh?

No, Herm dragged that no-talent roster kicking and screaming into the playoffs, just ask junc. Don't you know anything about American politics? Herm for Senator (D) of NY!

Damn I coulda swore you had some kind of alarm setup to alert you when a post about herm hit the board so you could rush to his defense. If anyone on this board is obsessed with him, it seems to be you.

I am obsessed w/ the truth and when I see misinformation being posted I have to respond and there is alot of misinformation about Herm. i wish i didn't have to talk about him,he's in the past but obsessed folks here cannot let it go. much like Met fans that worry more about the yanks than their own team alot of Herm haters seem to care more about him losing than the jets winning.

    Misinformation?!!??

    WHAT?!?!

Herm said" Last year was not my team"

    He friggin' said it!

He also said you can not win with a stellar Offense and a mediocre D....

Who won the SB last year? Was it not his mentor that accomplished that feat in St Louis?

    PRETTY SAD.

He says it wasnt his team thats why they didnt go far. But when he took over the JETS he was quick to take credit for going to the playoffs-eventhough it wasnt his team.

The thing that cracks me up about the comment is that the Chiefs have nowhere to go but down at the moment so when it is his team they're going to be worse...

Herm has learned one thing though from his Jet's experience. He's moving Trent Green out of town as fast as he can and looking for his QB. It took him awhile to dislodge Vinny and he's short-circuiting that process this time around. For this I will give him credit, he's doing the right thing.
