The List: Top 5 breakout players By Joe Theismann ESPN.com (Archive) Updated: May 14, 2007 In the NFL, rarely is star status achieved right away. Even the most talented players need time to hone their skills and learn the nuances of the pro game. Here are five players who are poised for big seasons in 2007. Randy Moss, WR, New England Patriots: It might be odd to some that Moss is on this list because he's an established star in this league, but I really believe the expectations aren't high enough for him in New England. He's going to have a big year for the Patriots and might get his first Super Bowl ring with Tom Brady throwing to him. Expect huge numbers. BOOK IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is comical at best. Let's see here...Brady lived off of short quick passes....Randy Moss lived off the deep ball....it's like trying to put two magnets together...
Randy is the best receiver in the game when he wants to play. He was on a horrid team and did not want to play. The quest for a ring with a HOF qb throwing to him will bring back his will and desire. As Jets fans we will sit here until the first game and try to make up reasons not to be afraid of him on the Patriots. Forget it and embrace the Horror. 80 catches, 10-15 T/d and a 1,000 yards for Mr Moss! At 60% Moss is better than most receivers in the league.
Yeah...Joe Theisman is an idiot and the former Oakland raiders OC is a genius that is why he don't have a job right now.... Jets fans don't have a clue...
Actually it was, we got Nugent, Miller, cedric Houston and an extra pick from that trade allowed us to move up and take Kerry rhodes.
Are you serious? Rhodes alone amde that trade GREAT and we didn't just ive up a 1st rd pick for Jolley, we moved down 21 spots and pickedd up extra picks so we got the same guys we were trageting in the 1st 2 rounds(Miller and Nugent) and got houston and Rhodes. It was a tremendous trade, the anti-Wes Welker trade.
Really? A solid kicker, top 3 kick returner/CB w/ upside, and possibly the best young safety in football arent worth the 26th overall pick?
I think Moss has a few good sesons left in him, but using Theisman to back up your argument is the equivalent of using a 1 year old retarded hillbilly to do the same thing. There's a reason why Theisman's out of the job in MNF now.
i didn't see this article posted, from cbssportsline on moss http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/story/10184783 This is a quote i found interesting. hoping the jets take this to heart "One personnel director called Moss "a quitter and a front runner." When I asked him to be more specific he was, saying, "if you hit the hell out of him early or, better still, just go after the quarterback and prevent him from throwing in his direction, he goes into the tank."
