Sorry if this was already posted. http://cbs.sportsline.com/nfl/story/10175360 New York Jets: First-round pick Jonathan Vilma was a hit; he's their best linebacker. But they missed on third-round corner Derrick Strait, which knocks the grade down. They made up for it getting starting receiver Jerricho Cotchery in the fourth round and safety Erik Coleman in the fifth. Coleman is one of the league's best safeties, even if he hasn't been to the Pro Bowl yet. Fourth-round pick Adrian Jones has started at tackle. Grade: A-minus The only thing that knocks this down from an A is the Strait pick.
I don't agree on the Coleman write up. he's a good guy but an average player, don't be surprised if he's not starting this year. reading it again i think they have Rhodes and coleman confused.
It's like Prisco tries to make up for downplaying the Jets by overrating them at times. In what way is Coleman one of the league's best safties? I'm going to just assume he was thinking of Rhodes.
Looking back though, that was an excellent draft... Strait was a bust, but Vilma was an awesome value at 12, and then Cotchery in the 4th was amazing, and Coleman has been a solid starter as a fifth rounder.... That's two day-two starters and a stud first rounder....
When its all said and done, Cotch might have all the records for a Jet receiver. I can see him being here for 10 more years. He has the talent and the work ethic to do it.
I always send him bad feedback and tell him that he is a Jets hater so i guess he is trying be nice...lol
With Manginis penchant for bringing the best out of players , it'll be interesting to see if Coleman does progress. I do think he is average at the moment but think he has it in him to a whole lot better.
