I was thinking maybe we could surf the web and try and find your personal favorite play by anyone.. Wether it be a nice run, catch, interception. run back from kickoff or punt return, big time hit.. Basically what ever you thought whas a good play lets post it up with a link....
hard to pick just one. but i think my favorite moment was Miller's return against Indy. the players loved it, the stadium went nuts; i felt so pumped, so excited because, at that point, it appeared we would win. so yea, that's mine as of now. cheers
my favorite play's from that game too dawg, the most exciting play of my life was at the end of that game when they lateraled their asses off proceeding to give half of us heart attacks and those who didn't were sleeping or in the bathroom.
Best moment for me was the win over the Pats'. The Jets' drive for the last TD. OL & Mangold mauling Pats' DL. The was precious for me. The look of gloom on the Pats' faces. That look of defeat, being beaten on a muddy, wet, cloudy day. The back of Bradys' jersey covered with mud. A sunshiny day for Jets' & Jets' fans. Last play of the game : Ellis crunching Brady. Woody Johnson high five'n the Jets' when they came into the tunnel after the game. Jets' season finest hour...IMO.
it?s not a Jets Play, and i really like Reggie Bush, but this hit was just incredible. But even more impressive was Reggie?s preformance in the second half, there aren?t many that can take a hit like this and take over a game afterwards. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ntGDG437pFk
Dang, I was just about to post this exact hit... Sheldon Brown really delivered it to Reggie. This was probably the biggest hit by a corner since Asante Samuel laid out Jeb Putzier (then with Broncos) a year or two ago. Couldn't find that link though, anyone else find it?
Just reading above: Isn't it great to reflect back on some great bright spots last year when they were so few and far between the year before.
As far as a Jet Play or Game was for me I think it might of been either 1998 or 2000 maybe... and we were playing the Miami Dolphins on Monday Night football. and they went up 30 points on us start of the 4th.. and we came all the way back. And Jumbo Elliott caught that touchdown pass and he was bobbling it all the was down to the floor but caught it... Man that was a exciting game for us..
For me it was cotchery taking that pass away from Ellis Hobbs and scoring a HUGE touchdown in the win over the Pats. I loved the celebration he and Coles did after that touchdown
There were many highlight reel plays, including the TD runs by Cotch and Coles during the first NE game, but THE PLAY OF THE YEAR, was Ellis' crushing sack of Brady that sealed the 2nd game against the Pats. To me it's the play that best sums up what this first year under Mangini has come to represent....hope that the Brady/Belichick magic can be undone. Typically, that final drive has been a Brady hallmark and let's face it, had he completed 1 more pass--that pass--NE is kicking a game tying FG and who knows what happens in OT. The image of Brady dumped in the mud is one that provides me with optimism that this is finally the administration that ushers in a true golden era of Jets football. 68-69 was glorious but too brief 81-82 was exciting but incomplete This may be the time the Jets put together an extended run into Championship Game/Super Bowl territory, with a couple of titles to make it shine
my fav. 2 jets plays this season...were the 1. knee almost down cotch TD 2. coles TD run but all-time the first that comes to mind is the randy moss lateral to moe williams to close the half against denver...just insane cant seem to find a working video
Its Leon Washingtons ankle breaking 70 yard screen pass against Miami to get us in field goal range. I think this win sealled our playoff spot? Good stuff. http://youtube.com/watch?v=Gxe_0_J6iCs
Nd vs. UCLA with Smardizjalibaba (cant spell it) winning in the 4th with 25 sec. to go, amazing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2sIeDAmYRCQ Would have posted some cool jets highlight video from youtube, but apparently the nfl has some kind of right over footage
