We won?t pick him up! He?s 29 when the season starts and he?s already damaged good we?re building for a SB-Run in 2009 or 2010 if things work out great maybe 2008. He?ll be done then, so he won?t be able to help us winning a SB, so our FO isn?t interrested in him. And i belive he would be a ILB in a 3-4 and we?re pretty good now, with Harris, Vilma, Barton, Schlegel and maybe Hobson if Bowens or Wadesworth work out at OLB. Plus, Arrington is going to look for much more money, than we?re willing to pay for him. (if he wouldn?t he would be picked up by another team long time ago)
lol theres a reason hes still a free agent and i believe he is one of those guys who has no fit in the 3-4
Don't know if things have changed from a month ago but it looks like he's set to retire. Multiple Sources: Lavar Arrington Set to Retire Posted Apr 18th 2007 12:30PM by Dan Benton Filed under: NY Giants, Redskins, NFC East, New York, Washington, DC, NFL Free Agency http://ncaa-fb-rumors.aolsportsblog.com/2007/04/18/multiple-sources-lavar-arrington-set-to-retire/ According to Washington Post writer Jason La Canfora, several sources have indicated that free agent linebacker Lavar Arrington will retire despite earlier reports that he planned to play this coming season. Arrington's knee issues have been well documented but there was brief hope that he'd be able to overcome them. Apparently the offseason has not gone to plan and either Arrington has lost the desire to play or he realizes he'll never be healthy enough to play. My guess would be the latter because Arrington never lacked the desire to win or the fire to perform. Although he only played a few games in blue, I can honestly say I feel bad for him. Despite the reputation he had coming out of Washington, he always seemed like a team player in New York. He was good with the media, great with the fans and had a fantastic sense of humor. I certainly wish Arrington the best of luck moving forward and hope he does well for himself somewhere; a TV career perhaps?
good find.. So he is done.. He a good run through the middle of his career. not a hall of famer.. but a All pro career. thats alot more than what alot of players can say they accomplished.
He'd actually make a very good 3-4 OLB. I don't want him because he's a bum, but he does fit better in a 3-4 then he would in a 4-3 because of the speed and pass rushing abilities that he has.
theres no way in hell he'll play inside. Hes a perfect fit for a pass rushing OLB, thats what hes been his whole career. Sucks in coverage, sucks at reading plays, hes only good at rushing the passer. I dont know how that combo spells out ILB to you. If he was healthy, he'd be a perfect 3-4 olb, but thats not the case
Eric Barton, Jonathan Vilma, Brad Kassell, David Harris, Anthony Schlegal... That's more than enough talent at ILB. At OLB, we have a pair of good pass rushers in Hobson and Thomas with Bowens also... Eh, too much of a risk and we don't need him that badly. I doubt that he would come inexpensive either.
Yea he is and he does NOT make sense, why not just get John Abraham back...Arrington has NOT played a full season in sometime. He's damaged goods.
I'm surprised nobody has criticized you for calling Schlegel talent yet... Arrington's going to retire, he's not that coachable and isn't a physical freak anymore, so there's no need for the Jets to get him even if he were to play.
