Dude, I'm not even going to give it to you.

Maybe I'll blame Singleton for opening his piehole.

I can't get on Bobby, I'm just glad he's back.

It's fate that's kicking us in the pants.

I just hope it's not bad. Even if he misses a start, just nothing bad enough for the DL and I'll be happy.

    Myers getting a third batter?

    Well, there goes the no-no.

    I can accept that...

Interesting stat Myers 0-16 against righties
6-21 vs. lefties...so maybe he is not a lefty specialist

    Nice getting the DP there.

I really want Myers to do well. He works his ass off.

Cano is good at hitting the ball to the gaps, I think he is one of the best gap hitters I have seen in a long time

Yeah, when he's not busy swinging at balls 6 inches outside and above his shoulders.

Wow, we thought our fielding was suspect this year...

hahahaha that is true. I think that will improve over the years. If so, then we have a freak on our hands when hes in his mid to late 20's

Good game. But looks like from what Jorge said, we're losing Hughes for a while.

Bittersweet is the only word for today.

Wow, Hughes is gonna be special. I wish i could say the same for Mr. Pelfrey... I don't wanna be a classless asshole so hopefully Hughes gets better soon.

Lost in the Hughes injury was Bobby's return and I think Bobby's return is bigger than anything that happens on the field. I was never a big fan of Murcer's annoucing but it is GREAT to hear him again.

I don't think it was lost. To begin with, Hughes start was very significant to the modern team, Murcer is "old news," so to speak.

I agree that it is big though, and I did make sure to point it out early. I was very happy to see him return. The big C sucks.

And I'm actually a really big fan of his, as far as commentating. My favorite booth combo is O'Neil, Leiter, and Murcer. You can add Girardi in that mix anywhere as well, and it's still great.

This is why I really don't get worried about a bad start for the Yankees. When we play these mediocre teams I am so confident we are going to win every time. I think we are going to go through these next 11 games with the Rangers and Mariners and take 8-9 and be right back in it in the AL East.

Nice save for Mariano, and another good start by Pettitte.

Nice to win a 1-run game. Tonight the Moose goes...

My problem isn't the number of wins in the year. It's the issue of not being able to beat contending teams. We have to be able to beat teams like the Red Sox. If we can't beat them during the season, we won't beat them in October, and that's when it really matters.

Maybe not. Torrential rainstorm began right after the first game. It's at least an hour rain delay, even if it stops right now.
