With the last pick, why not take Baker? Redzone threat. 6'3" 208 lbs.

Brandon Siler if available. Can't have too many quality LBs.

I'll take Siler over Baker, who is slow and already turning 25. Academic issues, took him forever to graduate.

Exactly, add even more depth to the front 7. It all starts there.

I wouldn't mind Courtney Taylor out of the slot.

    Dallas Baker SI Grade
    3.49

    Position:
    WR Class:
    Sr School:
    Florida Conference:
    Southeastern Ht., Wt.:
    6-3, 208 40 Time:
    4.53

BIOGRAPHY: Full-time starter the past two seasons, and an All-Conference selection as a senior after leading the team in receptions with career numbers of 60/920/10. Junior totals were 52/697/5.

POSITIVES: Strong possession wideout with consistent hands. Effectively gets off jams at the line of scrimmage, stays low exiting breaks and positions himself to make the reception. Gets vertical and high-points the pass, using his frame to shield away opponents.

NEGATIVES: Not quick releasing off the line. More of a loping runner and does not show a burst of speed.

ANALYSIS: A big target who finds the soft spots in the defense, Baker is a solid football player with a nice game. A third receiver at the next level, he should flourish as a red-zone target and in third-down situations.

    PROJECTION: Middle Fifth Round

    2006 Receiving Statistics
Receptions Receiving Yards Yards Per Reception Touchdowns
    60 920 15.33 10

I can't believe he hasn't been picked yet.

What was the name of that massive 370 lb muscle bound NT freak? Has anyone taken him?

I haven't seen the name Matt Herrian taken yet

    MATT HERRIAN

    Tight End
    Nebraska
    6-5, 250

An All-State (Nebraska) selection during his prep career, Herian recorded 10 TDs and 786 yards as Tight End and made 76 tackles and 3 INTs as a Linebacker during his Senior season. He was also a two-time all-state basketball player. Joined Nebraska in 2002 and saw extensive action as a true Freshman in 2002, setting the school record for receiving yards by a Freshman with 301 on only 7 receptions, good for over 40 yards per catch, a phenomenal average for a TE. Started every game as a Sophomore in 2003 and caught 22 passes for a team-high 484 yards (22 yards per reception), while also leading the team in TD receptions with 3. Earned first-team All-Big 12 honors as a Sophomore in '03. Started the first eight games of his Junior campaign in 2004 and recorded 300 receiving yards and 3 TDs before suffering a broken left leg and broken left wrist that knocked him out of commission for the rest of the season. Missed the entire 2005 season (medical redshirt) while recovering from the injury. Based on his yards per reception average, it's easy to realize his skills after the catch. Herian owns good quickness and speed for the position. His elusiveness and agility rivals that of most WRs. He runs crisp, clean routes and can break away from traffic using his speed and athleticism. Fluid with excellent hips and solid change of direction skills. Dangerous after the catch. Prefers deeper routes and frequently has some trouble in the middle of the field because he's more a receiver than power TE. Not very big or physical. Can get hammered and beaten by more physical defenders. Relies on his better-than-average athleticism to make plays, rather than strength. That strength/size limitation is his greatest area of concern as he's not the most effective blocker. Has the athleticism, quickness and footwork to stay with his man, but needs to improve his upper body strength and explosion at the point.

NFL Comparison > shades of Todd Heap but not quite there yet.

ive watched dallas baker play since ive enrolled at florida 4 years ago, and if theres one thing the guy can do, its hold on to the football. he has made so many ridiculous catches this year. great leap, good hands. his speed is a little lacking, but he makes a great tall target downfield. I would love if the jets could pick him up.

brandon siler made a big mistake coming out this year, he could have added some weight and experience with another year in school, and coach meyer begged him to stay since he knew it would be a mistake, but brandon was extremely confident that he would be a first day selection, which anyone knew that he wouldnt have been.

as a huge gator fan, i can tell you that either baker or siler would be a great pick. they're don't necessarily wow you initially, but they make big plays consistantly. Either one would be an amazing pick for the seventh round!

Siler would be a great pick, but I certainly would not mind Darius Walker.
