I 100% agree. Although, I am really not a huge fan of taking ANOTHER O-Lineman in the 1st round...

you say another like its bad. you also say another like we have depth. our run blocking sucks just to remind you. we cant trade for thomas jones and think hes just going to boost everything.

also kendall will be gone soon. our o-line is very far from done. and it just so happens at 25 we have the most value at WR/CB/OL. only player not one of those positions i could see us taking is anthony spencer.

as mentioned before olsen is the only pick that comes to mind right now that i wouldnt smile with when i heard his name called.

I totally agree. If olsen was a better blocker and could help the run game then I could live with his selection but he isn't, his blocking is a liability.

So do I!!! Getting a top 14 value at 25 would be an absolute heist !!!

Olsen Can't block and they said on Espn Last night that he has dropped alot of passes as well. Unless he can stop The Pats from gettting five yards a carry up the middle or Cover their receivers while we try to get a pass rush on Brady he is not the pick we need in the first round. Defense wins championships!

Totally agree. The Olsen lovers must think we can just out score everyone and win that way. Not going to happen people.

They don't realize Pennington is our Qb and we will never outscore anybody. We need a Raven like Defense. Period!

I think the main knock against Olsen is his lack of production at Miami. He really didn't produce all that much. Plus he catches the ball with his chest too often, which would make him not all that effective going over the middle. He's a good player but not what we need at this point of the teams development.

Did you see the QBs he played with in Miami? That can explain it. Miami's offense SUCKED. People here "Miami" and think "wow, that's an awesome team, he did nothing to contribute" without realizing their offense stunk, and they were 6-6...

Chicago loves Olsen, Id expect they will move up and get him somehow. They are holding a pretty good chip in Briggs.

That might be true. But the fact remains that does not go over the middle well and catches with his body. By the way, I don't think anyone on this board just assumes that Miami is good because it was Miami. We all pay attention to football, thats why we are posting here. So, please give people the benefit of the doubt.

I am not saying its bad, however, I would like to see them address the defense in the 1st rd over drafting another OL which is considered a "safe" pick. There should be a decent OL in the 2nd rd we can take.

Would you want to have sex with the prom queen or makeout with her ugly friend?

"Decent" isn't what makes for a dominating line. Why pass up the prom queen if she's ready, willing and able and meets your needs?

Again, this Olsen thing comes to down to most Jet fans wanting the Jets to pick someone exciting - as close to a skill player as you can get - to make the draft interesting. We all know the Jets are highly unlikely to draft a WR, RB, or QB with their first round pick. So the Jet fan wants the tight end because its sexy - not because its what the Jets really need. I don't see Olsen as the Jets pick at all. This regime is building from the trenches out and a tight end who can't block doesn't seem like a building block to me. I expect to see a DL, OG, or CB at 25 - Spencer, Carriker, Harrell, Blaylock, Ross, Houston etc. even if Olsen is there and even if someone's "value" board says Olsen is the BPA by far. And if the Jets do pass on Olsen and take any of the players above I will be extremely happy. I think it has been shown that tight ends are not wise first round picks.

If the guy is so damn amazing why would he slip to 25? It wouldn't be a "break" for the Jets, it would be the 24 other teams picking before us deciding to pass on the him.

I am drunk as shit and will e drunk as shit for the fdraft tomorrow...

I say we take BPA and stop freaking out...

If it is Aaron Rooss...take him.

If it is Justin Blalock...take him.

If it is Greg Olsen...take him.

The Jets are NOT a couple of defensive players away from winning a superbowl. We still have a need for a TE on offense who can make plays...

We still have a need for a OG who can bulldoze the Dline...

WE STLLL have a need for a OLB wo can provide pressure opposite BT...

We still have a few needs so arguing over who is the appropriate pck at 25 is just stupid...because we still have holes to fill after 25.

What pick number Olsen gets drafted at will not determine how he plays.

Yeah. What I don't like is when people here say the Jets shouldn't draft Olsen because Mitchell, Brady, and Becht didn't pan out. Those TEs were drafted by other people. Those three TEs have nothing to do with Olsen.

(I have no clue how good Olsen could be. I did see him play several times, but not enough to form a solid opinion aside from saying he is a good pass catcher.)
