    RECYCLED PATRIOTS?

I obvioulsly want what's best for our team, but Chatham, now talking to Troy Brown, etc... I hope Mangini isn't gonna just blindly bring in every Pat or ex Pat that he can get his hands on... I mean who wouldn't want McGinnest? BUT, I def want to retain our green and white identity... We don't need a team full of torries...

I agree .. the "NEW" York Jets should not be filled with "Ex" Pats just because.....

we should stay out of there pocket and look elsewhere for recyclable talent

Bill Parcells brought a few ex-Patriots on board in 1997 and 1998. This is not a problem for me.

The Jets/ Pats rivalry became more intense when Bellichek spurned us and took that job, IMO... I hate all PATS... and FISH for that matter...

You wouldn't see George Steinbrenner signing some RED SOCK to play center field now would ya? Geesh!

I didn't hear anyone complaining from the Patriots when 10 ex-Jets won Superbowls with them!

By the way, Curtis Martin is an ex-patriot. I think the Jets made out pretty good on that one.

If he wants to bring in low priced guys (that he feels comfortable with) to add depth to the roster, it doesn't bother me one bit.

If year after year we focus soley on grabbing recycled Patriots (and ignore others in free agency), I will be deeply disturbed.

I don't care if our whole team consists of Ex-Pats, as long as we're winning games. That doesn't go for this upcoming year obviously as my expecations aren't very high.

If anybody is really concerned about this, I would suggest not following professional football anymore. Players who you previously disliked will often times be acquired by teams you like.

    Stick with college football.

Picking up one key guy is certainly something that we have to do if it's presented (ex. McGinnest), but when we could just as easily get the same talent elsewhere (Matt Chatham for instance is NOT that good), I'd rather get it elsewhere...

Exactly when they one the first SB they had a large amount of ex jets. We should do what ever it takes to win.

EXACTIMONDO...As long as they are GOOD - EXCELLENT football players who can get the job done then who cares WHERE THEY CAME FROM??? They can be from the Arena league, but if the job is taken care of at the end of the day, doesnt matter.

    PEACE!!!

I guess I'm old school... I'd just as well root for the PATRIOTS than a team LADEN with ex PATS and coached by a Bellichek clone... Hopefully it doesn't come to that...

Curtis has proven his loyalty... he bleeds green and white... TY LAW on the other hand? Why did we even pick him up in the first place? He was nothing more than an over-priced mercinary...

    He did make the Pro-Bowl.

We were also a game away from the AFC championship the year before last (and needed help at corner). I thought it was a good signing. Especially because we didn't committ to him long term.

How he made the probowl is beyond a lot of people including me... He did have a LOT of ints (10 I think?) So I guess that's why, but he was routinely TOASTED as well... I'd have rathered one of our young guys get the reps - would have helped us more this year since last year was a JV season anyway...

I agree with you there. Would never happen under Herm though (or as I like to call him El-Doucho).

I was saying I understand the thinking going into last season. We needed help at corner, and were a game away from the AFC championship. In that situation, grabbing a guy like Law makes more sense than throwing a young unproven guy out there.

However, as the season went on (and toward the end of games), I agree that guys like Justin Miller should have gotten more playing time.

Believe me, under this new regime, our youth will not rot on the bench anymore.

The only player that would bother me if he became a jet would be tom brady.

I really don't care where the players played before, as long as they helpp the Jets win.

Agreed on all points... I actually didn't mind the Law signing when it occurred either (since it wasnt like 5 Pats at once, and he was a PTPer)... I expected us to be very competitive last year, but we weren't, thus I think he should have been riding the pine in favor of the younger guys after we tanked...

what are you crazy????that would be my number one choice.....the whole post is way outdated....its beebn about 25 years now since pro sports has become simply rooting for a uniform.....its not 1975 when you can count on the same players being on your favorite team and your nemesis being on the same opposing team.....in 1994 i saw the rangers win the cup with all the oilers that i used to hate...but once they put on the ranger"sweater"they became my boys.....and that cup isnt tainted one ioda for me....i watched wade boggs prance around on horseback in yankee stadium and it was awesome......
