It is obviously not number 1 on the jets list of needs this year but im not very happy with our depth at the position going into next season, I mean obviously we have a lot more important needs but Who do we plan on starting next year, Barrett and Miller?, well if that is the case then thats fine but I mean obviously neither of these 2 are shutdown CB's and their are not to many in the league but I think that we should add some more depth in the Free agent pool because Barrett is a vet and Miller will be a 1st year starter, although he did start for barrett while injured later in the season I dont feel very confident with them, and then having derrick straight as the nickel back we just seem real young at the position I wish we could add an average(NOT BIG NAME GUY) but an average guy just to add some more depth incase miller or straight struggle, or incase barrett gets injured. Im not sure of what CB's are available seeing a few have been grabbed already and a few left I dont want to touch guys such as Jamar fletcher or charles woodson because we dont need to pay them and we dont need someone like woodson on our team. Im talking about a role player type of guy that fits in as a nickel back that can battle straight for the position.
Yes, Barrett struggled at times. Miller seems like he's getting used to the CB spot, and is very quick. Kenny Wright, Jerry Azumah, Charles Woodson..just some FA's out there.
Damn this sucks but if i have to take a corner, i would take jerry azumah. unless there is others in the FA i dont know about.
If I were to pick out of any of them Woodson is the guy I want. I know hes had some injury problems in the past but his talent is rare. But he is about to become 30. If we were to keep a CB over 30 Jets we should have kept Law then but contract wise it wasn't possible
we should take a look at woodson.his market isnt that big at the moment we may can get him at a solid deal.
I believe I read Andre Dyson was released by Seahaws, he might be a good pick-up ? He's also not to old.
damn we have so many holes on our depth chart. Obviously we won't be able to cover up all those holes in one offseason.
calm down is it really that far out of reach...woodson isnt getting any intrest at the moment.. which means no bidding war he knows he came off a down year last year.. a would come at a solid price
Without Abraham's pass rush the Jets had better find a solution in the secondary or this is going to be a long, long season on defense. Note the emphasis on the word long
Cornerback will be addressed either via FA or the draft. I think they'll probably look for a second or third rounder if they use the draft. Barrett is average, and the jury's still out on Miller, although he had some good moments playing the corner last year.
i think our front 7 is going to play so much better, that we will be ok with mediocre corners im worried about the oline more than anything right now
