I'd take him. I still hold the feeling that he got a raw deal in Detroit. I think he can be successful elsewhere in the league. My question is, when did it become okay for every QB in the NFL to dictate trades? No one wants to play out their contracts anymore. It's getting a bit ridiculous. Then people wonder why I was on the owners side during the CBA talks...
stop doin this crap ppl...........................just because sumone is gunna become a FA or is gunna get traded....DOESNT MEAN THEY R GOIN TO THE JETS.......so stop asking if we want these garbage qb's bc we dont
Ill take him. To bad they signed Edwards already. We could have worked out a deal that could have sent abe there and get harrington and a pick as well.
obviously u are the dumbest person i've talked to..............i can play better then joey harrington...........hell y dont we just start a thread on our pursuit at gus frerott!!!!!!!!yea we shud get him!!!!!! NOT
i'd take him for a 3rd. granted he didnt peform well detroit supplied him the weapons he needed but forgot one big part and Offensive line. i would suck too if i didnt have time to throw the ball
A third rounder? Are you kidding me? He's no better (in fact, probably worse) than Ramsey, and Ramsey can be had for a 5th rounder.
nah i was pretty serious when i wrote that. a third is a reach but sometimes you have to stick your neck out for big things to happen. in all reality though were probably not gonna pick up any veteran QBs so theres no point in this thread
I think that Joey Harrington would be a very attractive option at Quarterback if our other ideas don't quite work out. People are giving him a hard time for his career up to this point in Detroit, and he absolutely deserves it, but it's not a Ryan Leaf level bust we're talking about here. Harrington has talent, he's a smart QB, who, when he has time, can make very good throws. It's untrue that Tedford did "all the work" for his QBs, in his offense the QB could just limit himself to little more than half the field on passing downs, a gimmick which made up for the team's lack of talent (compared to major opponents). In Detroit, he was handcuffed by a Coach that, from day one, NEVER wanted Harrington, and did everything in his power to replace him; along with a GM who spent all of his picks trying to cover his own ass, rather than help the team. Harrington is one of the players in the NFL that I think could truly have vast improvement once he changes teams, no doubt he'll be much better off after this. Considering that I don't think there are going to be any teams wanting to deal for him, he might be flat out cut once the Lions find a QB they want to replace him (though I bet Grimm loves Orlovsky's potential).
I've always liked Joey Harrington and I think he'll be a good NFL QB. Laugh if you want now, but I'll dig this thread up when he becomes the next Drew Brees.
66 posts and you are talking smack about me being the dumbest person you have "talked" (the proper word would be spoken, but then again, we're just typing) to? Nice job! Welcome to TGG noob. Okay, so if you are better than Harrington, I fully expect you to show up in pads for mini camp in May. See you there! BTW: It's Gus Frerotte. I'm dumb eh? 1) Dumb means deaf, it doesn't mean stupid, but that's a technicality. 2) You managed to make 15 grammatical errors, while only typing 35 words. That's some average. (42% actually) Capitalization isn't hard. Just hold down the big key that says Shift. It's THAN, not THEN. I am better THAN Joey Harrington would have been the correct thing to write. Yeah is the word I believe you were looking for. Yea is a cheer. Lastly, you PURPOSELY misspelled SHOULD? I can deal with the use of U and Y, but you misspelled SHOULD? Have a nice day!
Add Aaron Brooks to the mix. Just announced on NFL Network. Saints release Brooks. He would be my choice to backup Penny.
