I just checked out the thread, and it does seem legit. I hope it's true, I've always thought highly of Bowens, he'd make a great addition.
A A A A A Bowens signs with Jets By TFY Draft Preview Posted Mar 27, 2007 One of the few pass rusher left in free agency is now off the market. Former Miami Dolphin David Bowens has signed a three year contract with the New York Jets. Bowens was being courted by the Miami Dolphins, Carolina Panthers, New England Patriots and the Jets. Miami was offering a one year deal worth $1.5-million to keep Bowens, who wanted a long term deal. Bowens signed today with the Jets for $6.1-million over three years. The deal includes a guarantee of $700,000 the first year and incentive clauses which can add an additional $2-million to the contract
holy crap...if this is true, i really dont know if we will be drafting an OLB/DE....with all the signings as of late( coleman, Bowens, Wadsworth, and Haynes) i think we have enough players to fill our needs at those positions...hope they all work out well
Right on. Great pickup IMO. Depth is key in the 3-4... This doesn't mean we won't draft an OLB because you can never have enough solid passrushers in this scheme.
Good signing. I'm really getting pumped for the draft now. There are so many ways we can go. Though I'm not prepared to rule out OLB, what about ILB? If Barton is on the block, Kassell was ineffective and Mangini seems to prefer Hobson on the outside (maybe looking to rotate with Bowens), could we be targeting some inside help? Who do you guys think are the best 3-4 ILB in this draft? Anybody of value at 25?
Well we could go for a huge reach at ILB and get someone like David Harris at #25, but it would be a humongous reach, and he wont be there for our 2nd rounders, so someone like Zak DeOssie would be great at either ILB or OLB (he has the size for either) with our second 2nd rounder, or our 3rd rounder.
