I hope he's healed by preseason. I don't want to hear a single Patsy excuse why we beat them in Foxboro in 07.
Agreed,Dillon was the better more consistent player last year even if he was less spectacular.I was doubtful about his ability to carry the full load to begin with but now with him being a potential injury risk, the pats have to look at taking a running back on the 1st day of the draft.
The Boston globe just posted an article confirming the shoulder injury was not going to effect Maroney for the 2007 season. He will be in camp. The pats where going to take a rb anyway in the draft. I am guessing booker from Florida to take over for Faulk eventually. There is not way they draft a back with either of those 2 first picks imo. This surgery happened 2 months ago. They would not release Corey 2 months after.
Recent reports from the globe say he will not be effected for the 2007 season, he will be in camp, so there better not be an excuse if he fails.
You know this surgery happened over 2 months ago correct? The pats would not have released Corey if they felt Maroney was not going to be able to play. The globe is saying Maroney will be fine by camp, and the surgery will not effect the 2007 season anyway. The rumor was he had surgery to repair his shoulder popping in and out of the socket. A problem he suffered since college. If that is true, that is a common surgery and will only correct the problem for good. They might draft a back in the third round, to be the eventual replacement for Faulk. Booker is who I am guessing it will be. From the globe Boston Globe .com March 26, 2007 Welcome to Phoenix PHOENIX -- Welcome to Phoenix, where the NFL's annual meeting is being held at the Arizona Biltmore. The NFL has issued about 200 media credentials for this "event". Over the next three days, owners will vote on rule change proposals and commissioner Roger Goodell is expected to announce a revision to the league's personal conduct policy, with harsher penalties on players who have problems with the law. From a Patriots perspective, chariman/CEO Robert Kraft and president Jonathan Kraft are here for the meetings. Head coach Bill Belichick, who is not scheduled to attend, shared some of his thoughts on a few rule-change proposals in Sunday's Boston Globe. Vice President of Player Personnel Scott Pioli and General Counsel/Player Personnel man Jack Mula are in attendance. On the news front, running back Laurence Maroney underwent shoulder surgery after the AFC Championship Game. That Maroney underwent surgery was first reported by the Boston Herald, and has been confirmed by the globe. Maroney will naturally be limited in the team's offseason program, but the injury isn't expected to threaten his 2007 season.Posted By: mreiss | Time
And the Boston Herald just posted an article saying there was Significant damage,as a fan it would be foolish to discount a potential serious injury just because one paper said it's not that serious. The pats would easily release Dillon if it would save them money, and Remember it was Dillon who wanted out.
The Boston herald broke the story. If you read the globes article you can see the globe gave the herald credit for breaking the story. The globe then called there sources in the patriots orginazation to have the story CONFIRMED, which it was. The patriots then gave the globe the added information Maroney would be FINE for the 2007 season. Maroney had this surgery over 2 months ago. I work where I can get the Boston sports stations on the radio. They have all reported the herald broke the story the globe confirmed it and Maroney will be fine for 2007. The herald was the first report. The globe credited them and confirmed the story with the pats where the got the information he would be fine in 07. It would be foolish for a fan to ignore the fact the globe confirmed the original rumoes with the actual orginazaton and they said he would be in camp and not effected for 2007. From the most recent globe article. On the news front, running back Laurence Maroney underwent shoulder surgery after the AFC Championship Game. And we should believe what the pats say because hey have always been so forthcoming about injuries? The pats would tell you everything is dandy even if his arm had fallen off.
Ok ignore all the facts. Yes, they are lying to the globe about a surgery Maroney had 2 months ago when they just confirmed he would be fine for the 07 season. They would flat out lie to the media because they are the pats and they are evil.
Sorry to ruin the homer fest with cold hard facts. Waaaaaa waaaaaaa waaaaaaaaaa your a troll who ruins our homer fests waaaaaa waaaaaaaa waaaaaaa. The Boston herald broke the story. all he's saying is that the pats have never been very truthful when it comes to injuries. Having tom brady questionable for every game etc. And "fine" could mean a variety of things. Does that mean he'll be 100%, will his shoulder still be a little tender and weak with a higher probability of reinjuring it. Will he be in mini-camp, training camp, preseason? we don't know. Maroney was really held back by injuries last year SPLITTING CARRIES. Clearly durability is a concern for maroney right now. You're taking what he said to an extreme. He didn't say that they are flat out lying, but they are moreover equivocating.
You just don't get it! No one would have a problem with you if you just came out and said, I'M A PATRIOTS FAN. This moronic shroud of jetsfandom you're hiding behind is what is leading to your treatment. You even mentioned Cold Hard Facts, a site which might as well be named We Think The The Pats Are Better
I was just trying to post some recent facts that the pats themselves said maroney would be uneffected by this surgery in the 2007 season. Not only did I provide facts, I provided proof of the claims. People start posting troll pictures when I am not trolling at all.
I said I posted "cold hard facts". That is a SAYING. I did not mean the website. I have never been on a website called colts hard facts. I got ALL that information on the globes website. http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patriots/reiss_pieces/
It's debatable that they are evil but you can't deny that they've not been entirely honest when it comes to injuries. Surely you must understand that NFL teams withhold the truth when it comes to injuries, hell we did it with Pennington after his first rotator cuff surgery.Remember how Chad declared himself 100% fit during training camp and How Herm said he would be ready to go for the start of the season? You remember how poor his arm strength was on opening day? When it comes to disclosing injuries, teams play the part of politician and not Doctor.
Alrgiht guys just posting the latest news which has the pats confirming Maroney will be "uneffected" for the 2007 season. I got it from the globe here http://www.boston.com/sports/football/patriots/reiss_pieces/ I dont feel like getting banned so im not going to get into an insult fest. The article is about half way down the page.
