Are they factoring Curtis Martin's retirement into the cap numbers? If he hasn't officially retired, i.e. handed in his papers, his cap numbers probably still count against us.

That is correct, once he turns in his papers, the Jets get a 1.35 mil bump in cap space.

Ok, so now that he's off the table, do we re-sign clement or look to the draft? Or both? Can't see the running game getting much stronger going into the year with the same line as last season.

Jones is 6'4" and only 295 lbs allegedly. Too small for our running game- if he was any good he would have broken the lineup already. With freakin Ferguson droppin below 290 at season's end at 6'6" that's 2 scrawny NFL tackles. Hopefully Ferguson keeps the weight on this year. I would take Clement over Jones.

Resigning Clement is a must IMO. It would also be nice to add a younger player via the draft.

There'll be a journeyman similar to Clement available before camp opens. He'll probably cost the Jets not more than a step above the vet minimum. Jones is still a possibility but as people have noted he's not really right-sized for a right tackle.

We're still building on the line next season. Not surprising given that we had 3 key holes (both tackles and the center) going into last year's draft. Maybe we'll find a surprise waiting for us at 25.

Columbo is overrated. let him go, we can build the line through the draft and other FA options

bring back clement, and draft justin blalock.

blalock can play guard or right tackle...and hes a beast. its too bad the jets didnt make a push for langston walker. i would have loved to see him here.

I'd like to see us go DL in the first round, OL in the 2nd round. Once we get our lines built, the rest of the team will fall into place.

frankly I'd rather keep continuity with Clement than sign another journeyman (or, in colombo's case, pretty good guy with some warts). Draft a guy if you want, but bring back Clement

Colombo is overated. Played one full season in his entire career...
