Very nice signing, he played well as a backup. He was said to be a locker room leader as well.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Hopefully we got him for the right price, which I'm sure we did.

Nothing wrong with keeping Hamilton around. He was here in the Parcells days, knows the system, and played solid last year when given the chance. Most likely a great presence in the locker room too.

A waste of a roster spot. Since he's not productive, make him an asst. coach if you like having him araound. Matter of fact let Hamilton & Kimo be coaches....if you like having them around. THe only time they'll touch the opponets Qb is during pre-game. :breakdance:

IMO he was more productive than Kimo last year, both on and off the field.

This is a very nice depth signing. I thought he played well when he got in the game for us last year and I think he can do the same next year.

I like bringing him back, even though Kimo is still around. I'd prefer to have Hamilton and to cut KVO, but that's unlikely because I think he already got his bonus.

With all these DE signings, I kind of get the picture they ar realy hoping to land a rookie DE carriker, cough cough, with #25. Have some veteran insurance while he develops, etc.

Not a bad signing, gotta have guys like this in your lockeroom and he provides solid depth.

I agree with you--why keep two marginal guys?

Probably signed for the veteran minimum.

    exactly.

and i wonder if someone will - such as Dave Ball (though i like him as depth) - will get the ax.

but you have to assume that Hamilton and Kimo will be around to teach whomever we draft. maybe the DE we draft will be a later pick (i.e. R2-R4) considering we may also sign Coleman.

it just doesn't make sense to sign all of these guys, especially vets, if we're targeting a DE; unless you take into account the learning curve for someone who's not quite ready to play, like a non-first-rounder.

but hey, i'm all for depth as well as flexibility heading into April.

    cheers

He made a hell of a play right in front of me up in Buffalo...bringing Loseman down for a huge sacks the play before JP scrambled for the TD.

I like him, good veteran presence and he can still contribute. Nice.

I remember that play clearly also, it was a great wrap-up tackle.
