...on NFL Live, Mark Schlereth, whom I respect immensley, says Thomas Jones is the BEST running back pickup by any team in the NFL. He says Jones' style is perfect for the Jets - and he'll make a great contribution to the Jets this season.

Hey, Schlereth rarely compliments the Jets, and that means something coming from him...

My Mom said that Thomas Jones will be a great fit into the Jets offense and that he and Washington will be a great duo...

Was a new post necessary? I know everyone is super excited about the trade, but who cares what Mark Schlereth says?

He actally gave them major props last year at the draft for drafting clemens, brick, mangold. He said something to the extent of, The Jets clearly know how to build a football team and what the NFL is all about

Yeah, he's a closet Jets fan when doing his normal ESPN news spots. He's one of the only guys that would say nice things about.

The only time he's a hater is when he's on with Mike and Mike in the morning. Even then he only does it to get Greenie riled up.

Can I ask why we always trash people for their threads...?? thanks for the info.. I'm just upset that I hear about the Jets on ESPN about once a year.

Ridiculous post here. It's not like Mark Schlereth is some schmuck. He is an analyst, and we talk about what they say all the time.

    Absolutely we talk about them...

My point simply was did we need yet another TJ thread?

I don't even really care that much it just seems pointless to start a thread saying that Mark Schlereth thinks TJ is good...

Maybe one day we'll get to a point where the people assigned with the responsibility of determining where threads go get to do their job without everyone else discussing it at the same time while diverting the attention of the thread simultaneously.

    Let's move one :)

Thanks GG regardless of what other people say sometimes I don't want to read through 11 pages and 275 posts to get to what some analyst had to say.

I think alot of people in the league and around the game are realizing this is not the same old Jets. We are usually on the bad end of these things but Jones will get the torch from Curtis as the leader on the field and in the clubhouse. There was a one year void but it has now been filled.

I tend to agree.... the merged thread goes so far off, it's hardly worth looking at anymore, while a respected analyst's opinion would get lost in the sauce over there. It's a HUGE story... and I don't relish the mods' job of trying to decide which TJ threads should stand on their own or get merged. I think this one is worthwhile, at least for a day or so before merging.... but it isn't my decision, and I'm happy about that!

IMO he said that because he's an ex-o-lineman. He usually has some good things to say though.
