I wasn't saying the Chargers are the favorites...I was saying the report said they are the team Porter WANTS to play for. I too doubt they would meet his asking price.
There's no way San Fran goes after him now. First the biggest contract for a defensive player in NFL was handed out, then they get Michael Lewis and now Ashley Lelie. If they could afford Porter that would be nuts.

I made that connection a couple of days ago and it seems as though others are thinking the same thing. I just think Porter is the type of smash mouth badass threat that this defense needs. I'm sure Mangini could think of all types of fun things for him to do, especially in a scheme he's accustomed too. The fact is you put him with Thomas and Vilma as well as an uprgrade over Kimo at end and it elevates our defense into a threat.
