His numbers are low because he's a short yardage back who never got a whole lot of carries. He's very good at what he does IMO. You can't judge how good he is at being a short yardage back by looking at rushing yards. If you want someone to pound out 3-4 yards per carry and punish the defense, he will do that for you.
I like the Duckett signing. I mean if we get him. Chad Pennington and Duckett; a match made in heaven............... Actually, I support Chad P, but I couldn't resist.
This could work...I'm not too familiar with Duckett's skills, but I do know that he worked out really paired with leon-clone dunn. The only thing that worries me is why he was buried on washington's depth chart, I mean once portis was gone that is.
Man....He breaks every second tackle in Madden. I would really like this guy on our team. Young, powerful, & cheap (hopefully) I really see this as a positive thing
I have no interest in Duckett, this guy runs alot smaller than his size would indicate. If we can't get Turner, which we can't than I'm all for filling the RB position through the draft. The only veteran I would take a chance on is Jordan if he is let go..
He'd be a good addition and he wouldnt cost too much to get. He's a bruiser and a good goaline back. He would be a good compliment to Leon.
You have got to be kidding me. He is not even close to the talent of Jordan. What has Duckett ever done besides disappoint?
Then again to be fair, The Falcons for like 4-5 years while he was there were so one dimensional that it made things harder for him and Dunn since Vick just runs with the ball and has no true weapon to throw to outside of Crumpler. As for Washington, he never got a chance. Unlucky I'd say but Betts rose up for the money and Portis came back for a few games too. I am not in love with this deal, but if for the right price its a nice move since we dont have to go with a RB on the 1st day of the draft.
look at it this way there is no way we can down grade our running game. I personally wouldn't mind a Duckett signing at all because he would be a great compliment and is a good short yardage back something the Jets haven't had in a long time.
Only good if it's cheap. A $1 million quaranteed per year contract would be the most to spend. I say draft Brian Leonard in the 2nd round and he would be better and cost less.
I'm alil bias as an MSU fan, but i really like Duckett and would LOVE to see him on the Jets. I believe he has the ability to be a feature back, but just hasnt gotten the opportunity anywhere. He would indeed be a great compliment to Leon.
Duckett is a team guy. Hardly played in DC but never complained. He doesn't hit the hole hard, but does read blocks well. He of course lacks quickness but does get a head of steam going and breaks tackles downfield.
I am also on board with it. I have come to love the philosophy of a mix of running backs with alternative skill sets. Allows the coaching staff to feature the player that best fits the situation on the field, and that is something they are very good at.
No No No No NO!! We are NOT looking for a running back to complement Leon Washington, we are looking for a feature back to which Leon Washington would complement. Our running scheme would be too similar to last year. Go for Turner or Clinton Portis.
