Packaging a combo of picks/players for a draftee seems so out of character for Mangini / Tannenbaum that I would be surprised if this went down.

Haha i love adrian peterson. But this is pretty retarted. Theres no way the Jets would do this. They do, however, need a runningback like peterson to build their franchise around. Some sort of stability. But this surely isnt the answer

I'm not buying it either. This is soooo anti-Tangini. By moving up, you not only give away other really picks to get this "stud," you then have to pay this stud astronomical money to sign him.

I just don't see us trading multiple picks to move up that far, and that's what we'd have to do. A very expensive proposition all the way around for a team that still has multiple needs and positions to fill. Ain't gonna happen, fellas.

No, no, and no! We don't need a WR at all, and as far as RB goes, we really just need a cheap power back that can compliment leon.

If we're trading up to get Peterson or Calvin Johnson, then we'll have to give up the better part of this years and next years drafts. There's no way we do this without a defensive end for Von Oelhoffen, a right tackle and possibly a guard for Anthony Clements, as well as a speed rusher and depth at linebacker.

I'd hope that teams really by into this, so they will have no idea what we're going to do, but this is the usual PFT bullshit.

I am shocked at the negativity in this thread. Instead of try to realize the possiblity of this happening and talking about how it might be good. Half of the pople that have posted have said its retarded.

    That's because it's retarded.

Name one team in NFL history that did anything other than ride the flaming wreck to the ground after making a blockbuster trade for a single player?

    There aren't any.

Every team in NFL history that got so full of it's own "genius" that it thought it could trade a boatload of value for one player has gone down in flames immediately thereafter.

Definitly a smokescreen, how could this come out a month before the draft.

    Dwayne Robertson

If we kept the 13th & 22nd pick we could have had Troy Polamalu & Larry Johnson

This is just to ridiculous to respond. So why I am I responding you ask? Cause it is so ridiculous I had to say how ridiculous it is. I am officially cutting PFT out , from the A. Thomas has a "dealio" report a week before FA began to this. They are just horrible.

Calvin and Peterson are both great, exciting players but they do not fit the Jets' primary needs right now. Now, if you were telling me the Jets were trading up to get Joe Thomas or Alan Branch, then I'd be a lot more excited about the possibility.

If the Jets were to trade up that high, which I could assure you they are not. I would much rather either CJ or Peterson than Thomas or Branch, who I think are gonna be the two biggest busts of the draft..

With the huge emphasis both Mangini and Tannenbaum put on the draft and getting value out of their picks last year, I strongly doubt this is true.

it could be possible to get Branch in the top 12....a few mocks say he may fall out of the top 10.
