Excellent! I'd much rather face Culpepper twice a year than Bress. Plus this opens the way for New Orleans to pick-up Drew. It's almost inevitable now, Lienart will be a Jet.

Absolutely. I mean it's not like the Jets have consistently beat Brees on the road, on a team with much more offensive talent then the Dolphins have. I too would much rather go up against a guy that put up one of the greatest single season performances a couple years ago.

not really, the titans still pick before us in the draft and i think lienart is going to be the first qb to go, i'm just mad that we havent done anything to improve our team yet. is anyone else upset about that.
and yes, brees is a saint. just so u all know a good site to go to for updates on all free agency stuff is rotoworld.com. just click on NFL at the top and it shows the latest transactions

How the F*&# can people be excited about the fact that the guy who put up the ninth best season of all TIME as a Qb is in our division. He had an off season last year but that doesnt meant he isnt the same player that threw for 40 touchdowns the year before.

This is terrible news for us, Brees would hae been much better to play against twice a year. This is a significant upgrae for the Dolphins and their offense has just found the piece that it has been missing since marino left

Well if you're going to hold such a small sample of how Brees has performed against the Jets, why don't you go and check out what Daunte has done against us as well. Here's the thing also. Daunte is coming off a major knee injury. Much more severe than Brees' shoulder. Many think he won't be ready to go at the start of the season. And even if he does there is a good possibility his mobility [one of his biggest strengths] will be dramatically reduced. Put him in a new system, with new players [I mean really, he's already shown how wonderful he can handle changes in personnel around him] and for all of the above reasons I think Brees was a much better fit the Dolphins. For the immediate future as well as long term. And it would seem Nick Saban agrees with me evidently.

I guess nobody around here remebers what Parcells did for Vinny or Gibbs did for Williams. Culpepper is infinetly more dangerous and talented than Brees. Miami is building around a controlled running game, you couple that with a legitmate deep threat WR and a guy who can get the ball deep as good as any QB in the league and Miami is much more of a threat to take down a big time D than they would be with Brees.

Brees is an excellent second teir QB, he isn't close to the threat to dismantle a good D as Culpepper is. Saban will put him in a position to kill teams especially with the running attack that Miami is putting together.

I disagree that mobility is one of Culpeppers strengths. I mean, sure it's nice to be able to run in a TD here or there, but it's not going to make or break a QB. Plus the guy is still freakishly strong with a fantastic arm. I remember last year in the preseason game where a Jets DB came on a blitz untouched and basically bounced off Culpepper and couldn't tackle him. How Culpepper comes back from this is up in the air but I would say there are question marks about both players.

People like to talk about the talent Daunte has had surrounding him on offense(and he has had alot) but what about Brees, having the best RB AND best TE in the league? Before the debacle that was last season for Culpepper he had also really cut down on the turnovers, so he's proven in the past that if he plays smart he's not a turnover machine as some have said.

When it comes down to it, I don't see why you would be happy about EITHER of these guys going to the Dolphins, especially not Culpepper.

Culpepper is damaged goods, it would take one helluva recovery to completley heal from that injury. Hell, I see Chad returning to form way before Culpepper does.
