Would Domonic Rhodes' DUI turn off the Jets "IF" he was in their plans?

The chances of the Jets going after Domonic Rhodes has just decreased.
There is a chance he will be charged with a DUI.
Those are the kind of players the Jets brass don't go after.
I think he is still a good player and hope we can get in the running. But this may change things.

I think this DUI and prior domestic abuse charges are going to scare some teams away. I don't think the Jets were ever interested anyway, at least I hope not. I don't think he has the size nor the talent to be an upgrade over what we have already. JMHO.....

Rhodes has consistently shown that he's better as a backup. During the Super Bowl, all they talked about was how he performed better in a backup role.

I don't want Rhodes. EVERYONE has been successful in Indy, simply because they have had one of the NFL's best lines for the better part of a decade and Peyton Manning makes it impossible to put 8 in the box. Despite that, Rhodes averaged a meager 3.4 yards a carry. That's horrible.

Good points, he reminds me of the "great" Derrick Blaylock and his Chiefs fame...

When I first read the title I thought OUR Rhodes had gotten a DWI. I was like, "When did this happen?"

Yeah. I just realized this as well. I just adjusted the title to avoid confusion

As part of an RBBC he'd be an upgrade over sone of our pieces at the moment. That's the kind of role a part-time back can excel in.

That said I think a DUI would scotch the deal. Mangini doesn't want non-football issues to deal with in the locker-room.

He rushed for 1000+ the only year he was a full time starter.. Weird statement to make. He averaged 3.4 because he was their inside runner.

For the record, the only year he was the official "full time starter" was this year. The year you are referring to he only started about 9-10 games....

Even so, that's a pretty terrible number. I don't want to sign any inside runner who can't average above 3.5 yards a carry, especially when that's what we need. Chris Brown might be a cheaper, younger alternative.

Thank you. I'm really sick of little shit being turned into MONSTER character issues that would NEVER fit into the NY Saint Jets.

And why would we want him anyway? Washington should end up far better than him, and he's a career backup at best.

DUI - Driving Under the Influence
    DWI - Driving While Intoxicated
    Dooey - slang for DUI

Anyways, Rhodes is a horrible idea. 3.4 ypc running being that offense, is just not good. There is a reason they spent a 1st on Addai.

Also, look how horrible James was this year. He did nothing, what so ever!

Draft a RB or trade for Portis. None of these RB's look like they will be worth it.
