If we stick with Chad, Brooks and a draft choice at QB, then we'd better go after some o-linemen. You know, I hear this one guy out there is good. His name is Mawae. Ever heard of him?
Yeah, I could go 50/50. Bollinger would surprize us yet agian, if he was given the chance. If one analyzes the attitude of Bollinger and his demeanor profile, I would think it would fit well with the Mangini type of player, plus he is already here. Bollinger would come through for us in the short term. Go with the draft pick; groom Bollinger - start now; If Chad can start the opener, great; otherwise go with Bollinger. Give the drafted QB preseason time and then work him hard during the year for a possible start late in the season depending on what is at stake.
Supposedly our original offer was more in the lines of a 7th rounder. I would hold my offer and see if they blink. If we get a vet, draft a prospect, what do we do with Bollinger? I don't think he should be totally forgotten.
I'm there with you. After watching Bollinger play last year, I'm pretty high on his potential. He can start if Penny isn't able and he can hold the fort until our draft pick is ready to play.
If Detriot was also looking at Ramsey maybe they could do the same thing like the chargers and get rid of Harrington. I wouldnt mind him coming to us via a trade. Cause at that point Detroit QB's would be Kitna - Ramsey - King all of which started at some point. Give them the same 3rd for Harrington or maybe do a trade down in the first round and get Harrington and maybe Charles Rogers since they just signed Cory Bradford to a 4 year deal.
Dolphind just traded for Culpepper (see other threads) and Detroit took Kitna. Danny may not as many suitors any more for Ramsey. This all may work in our favor. Maybe we can get Ramsey on the cheap as far as picks go.
