how do the skins keep getting guys without cap space? http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2366421
He does the same thing as Matt Bowen, who they already had. He's overrated due to his freakish athleticism, but he's not spectacular. Not worth 5 million a year with 10 million in guarantees. When you have Sean Taylor, do you really need a guy that good next to him? -X-
Problem is, he isn't that good and is a liability in coverage. Man, I love getting a good laugh from the Redskins in the off-season. What is it... 3rd or 4th straight year of being free agent champions?
I don't know fellas. While I agree Archuleta is bad in coverage, he is a stud against the run or anywhere near the line of scrimmage and is a hard-hitter. Gregg Williams will design a system for this guy's strengths and look out. It's all about scheme in today's football gentlemen, Gregg Williams is a defensive mastermind.
Better than the Skins massive expenditures, which have resulted in one short playoff trip in the last 3 years. -X-
"massive expenditures"?? Ultimately, they are bound by the same salary cap as everyone else. They just manipulate it better than most. You'll be hard put to find a lot of "massive expenditures" the last 3 years that have not worked out pretty well. What direction did the Redskins go last year, and what direction did the Jets? I like the Jets and I wish Mangini well. But a get a chuckle out of lectures from Jet fans, of all people, about how a well-organized football operation should run.
Adam Archuleta is the next best thing to John Lynch. By that I mean today's John Lynch, not in his prime. He's horrible in coverage and his spectacular hits are not enough take away from the times he is beaten. Completely overrated, and for no reason but he seems to have one spectacular defensive play every 6 games or so that automatically makes the SC highlight reel. This will be a failure of a signing.
If it helps,we get a chuckle out the fact many Redskins believe that spending big money is the right way to build a team, what is it? 2 playoff years out of 7 under the Snyder era?And i believe free agency was several months old when Synder bought the team so it should really be 1-6.
Last year they only signed a few FAs and no really big names. Santana Moss was a trade... and btw thanks for that
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/9310144 Did you know? 1. In 1994, the first year of the salary cap, the cap number was $34.6 million. In 2007, it will be $109 million -- an increase of 215 percent. 2. Hutchinson will become the highest-paid guard in NFL history -- regardless of Seattle's final decision. Archuleta will be the highest-paid safety in NFL history. Just look at the last line and try not to shake your head or laugh I still cant get over this!!! The Redskins made Adam Archuleta the HIGHEST-PAID safety in NFL history!!!!!!! If a Redskin fan comes on this board and makes fun of the Jets or starts talkin smack. Im just going to point him back to this!!!!! Man what a dumb sign.
