Kitna could duel with Pennington http://www.newsday.com/sports/footb...661781mar14,0,768202.story?coll=ny-jets-print
I like Kitna over Ramsey, Kitna is a lot more proven, however what kind of contract is he going to want? Rebuilding will be hampered if a large portion of money is tied up in one position.
I can't imagine Kitna will warrant a cap breaking contract, especially by QB position standards. If he got a 3 year deal worth 12 million, with around 3 mil in roster bonus (assuming the Jets don't plan on using up all of their cap space this offseason), that wouldn't be a bad deal at all.
Looks like more and more we are going to play a 3-4 defense. I was totally wrong about this. I thought we wouldnt make the switch next year because I still feel we dont have the pieces for it. I know Im reaching for straws here but do you think that if the market does dry up for Abe that we could re-sign him? Or has the bridge been burnt.
thats what im thinking.........with all the cap space i wouldve thought theyd keep him but the verbal war has been launched already. after asking for a deal and the FO unwilling to ink him....he just lashed out and i dont think theyll be looking to keep him after that. all i can say is wherever he goes thats a lucky team.

I am not sure that we won't keep him. If he realizes that the asking price is out of wack with the Market, he may reconcile his differences with the FO. Especially given that it wasn't Mangini who promised him a long term contract, rather the Herminator.
