Not up on the mock drafts...would you trade the Jets pick at 25 and our first 2nd round pick from Washington to move up into the Top 5? Top 10? Which team up there would swap with us? And who would you be hoping to get with that pick? Branch, Thornton?
only player worth doing it for would be branch.... adrian peterson is amazing though...ok im done b/c it wont happen
Via the nfl draft chart, http://www.theredzone.org/2006/draft/draftvaluechart.asp, trading #25 and #37 would get us to #11 at most. Chuck in our #2 and you can get to #6 with a late round pick. (not sayin we should do it.. just saying value)
i say lets not but say we did....3 picks in the first 2 rounds should be held onto so we can get some depth
I can't see doing this, if that's the question. I prefer using all 3 picks individually and not packaging (unless we need to move up 4-5 spots on Day One for a specific and irresistible need), at which point I'd trade one of the Day One picks and a #6 or 7 or so to move up. But bundling Day One picks together to get into the top 10 is a gambler's game and one we shouldn't be playing. Our scouts are perfectly capable of making good player evaluations and there's no need to not trust that we'll get some damned good talent with each of our solitary picks.
Theres no one worth it in this years for us to trade so many picks. We are far better off using our picks individually.
There would be no takers on a trade like that ,especially this year. The bad teams are really bad this year!
As stated..you guys are better staying put. If anything consider trdng down a bit with one of those picks and getting an extra pick or two to add depth. You guys just need to build roster depth at this point, maybe get yourself a RB.
If the Jets do any trading it will most likely be a trade down, Tannebaum may be looking for extra picks maybe even another high pick for the '08 draft.....
we could use depth almost everywhere so trading up really isn't worth it, if anything we should trade for more picks
No. And we would also have to give up more than that, but I would say no to an offer like this. Outside of Peterson no one in my opinion is worth 2 players (Dewayne Robertson)
If there is a team stupid enough to make that deal then you have to. Jarrett, Johnson, Branch any of those 3 would be awesome but its just not going to happen. I see Tangini keeping both of those picks but somehow adding some more picks before the draft.
No way do you make this trade. The FO is following the Patriots blue print, and when was the last time you seen them do something like this? We have many holes to fill and having 3 picks in the first 2 rounds will go along way towards this. As others have mentioned we would trade down if anything.
Not that I would want to move up but Adrian Peterson looks like he is going to be a dam good running back. I would rather stay where we are but if we were going to move up I would love to try to get Peterson.
IMO teams aren't built with top five picks, they're built with quality 2nd, 3rd, & 4th round picks every year.
You do that in a HEARTBEAT. It's crazy good value. Of course, no team would do that, but who cares what they think?
