Our New D-Line Coach looks like James Dearth (our long snapper) I don't know how to do it because I'm not that computer savy, but our new D-Line coach looks just like James Dearth. If someone can go to Jets website and transport Dearth's picture from the roster section and place it next to coach's you'll see what I mean. He's also got a little Matt Chatham in him....
Great hire!! I love getting these young coaches who are going to be motivated to show there worth!!! Now we need a starting DE to replace Kimo and we'll be looking good.
This is exactly the first thing that came to my mind when I read about him. This guy seems like the kind of guy that will be groomed to be the DC in 2 years time. But he doesnt have much experience with the 3-4 and has coached a lot better line then we have. This is a step in the right direction to building our D-Line. Great signing. Mangini is really impressing me more and more with signings like this. Youth
Great now if we can only get a D-line we would be onto something! Seriously though.............. This is certainly a very good convenient hire. It definitely parallels Westoff's hiring. Look how well that worked out. I thought it would only be a matter of time before this franchise is actually became an inviting/attractive destination for talented people both coaches and players. What a change since the NYJ used to be a waste land. Now lets hope this translates into bringing the correct players in at the correct price..................... I am now more sure then ever that this is will be the case.
i WOULD NOT, want to miss a tackle in one of his practices, he looks like he'll remove your cup and kick you in the balls in front of the whole practice, then make you go back in the huddle.....lol
the oakland a's are a team that will never get past the first round of the playoffs, i dont want to be them...as a small market team, they just dont have the bank to sign those one or two key players that will get them over the hump... however i like their idea of how they build from within.... the scouts always have a great eye for young talent...but then again, there isnt a farm league for football so its kinda pointless to compare apples to oranges
I know Dan Quinn. He graduated a year ahead of me in HS. I had a photography class with him. He is a good guy, a Mangini kind of guy. What is funny is that it did not dawn on me that it was the same Dan Quinn I went to school with until my Dad called me and told me that it was him. Great hire.
According to Randy Lange, Marcin received an extension and will remain with the club, but not sure what his new role will be. Also good to hear that Cox is not going anywhere.... Denny Marcin, the Jets' defensive line coach the past three seasons, has signed an extension to remain with the team as a defensive assistant, said the source who said that contrary to published reports, Marcin was not fired, although it isn't known if Marcin sought the reduced coaching duties. Assistant defensive line coach Bryan Cox, who it was rumored was close to leaving with Richie Anderson for Ken Whisenhunt's new staff in Arizona, apparently will remain with the Jets. http://www.northjersey.com/page.php...lRUV5eTcwNzMyOTUmeXJpcnk3ZjcxN2Y3dnFlZUVFeXk2
Thanks, I must've missed that. Just did a search and saw the KFFL report. Jets | MacIntyre hired as secondary coach Tue, 30 Jan 2007 16:56:40 -0800 Randy Lange, of the Bergen Record, reports the New York Jets have hired Mike MacIntyre to be the team's secondary coach. MacIntyre was a Dallas Cowboys assistant from 2003-06.
No doubt.. He definitely looks like he will kick some serious ass... ellis definitely has lost a step it seems although he can not be blamed 100% for his lack of production... others are on the line and the backers have certainly led to his lack of high-end play.. he will have a great year this year... GO VOLS!
