This post is wrong in almost every way. All week 1 games on CBS are regional because there aren't any games at 4 because of the US Open. Secondly Tom Hammond doesnt work for CBS and Solomon Wilcots calls games with Ian Eagle.
Ok, so the regional part I actually got right, and maybe the networks will shake up their announcing duos by next season. Especially at the Ian Eagle/Gus Johnson/Tom Hammond level.
Last time we hosted an opener was against the Bengals. I made the drive up with my father. I believe Jonathan Carter fumbled the opening kickoff and I felt like throwing up. Pennington aired out some passes in that game. It was nice. Curtis began his amazing season that day. Carson Palmer's first start too I think.
They usually save that game for the first week of November, after the World Series, and it's always been a Sunday 1 pm. Why they do it after the World Series is beyond me, though in 87 and 88 it was the season finale both times. That wouldn't be bad, either, it would free up the NY TV market for a big out of town game.
Write this down and use it in Las Vegas: THE JETS WILL BEAT THE CHIEFS NEXT SEASON! Take themoney line and laugh all the way to the bank!!!
I think you are right. I think they will be favored but probably not more than -160 on the money line. Don't mess around with giving points just take the jets to win baby and watch Herm and his CHEF's run run pass and punt all the way to a jet victory!
