Probably as a Yankee just because his most high profile moments came in pinstripes (4 world titles and a perfect game.)
I voted Mets. Not really sure why. He had his best season* and a bunch of championships as a Yankee. Oh well. Never mind. I was looking at his adjusted ERA and failed to notice that he only pitched in 11 games that season ('96). 1988, still the tops.
Cone was a significant part of Mets history, but will be remembered as an anchor of the yankees staff in the mid to late 90's and a leader of 4 championship teams.
When people argue that Roger Clemens should be forced to go into the hall as a Red Sox because he supposedly played his best baseball there, I wonder why he shouldn't have to go in as a Blue Jay?
Well, 192 (over half) of Clemens' wins came with Boston, as opposed to what, 60ish with Toronto? That may be a reason. EDIT- On second read, maybe you meant Cone going in as a Blue Jay?
why cant he just wear a split cap... hes always gonna be my favorite mets pitcher...but he should go in as a yankee
He's not going in...unless I missed some news. He had stuff on par with most Hall of Famers but he doesn't have the benchmarks. GREAT player but if he took care of himself he could have been an all-time great. when the Mets traded David Cone I almost stopped being a Mets fan as a kid. I think it basically ruined baseball for me at the time. -X-
