BC... you did post a thread in the draft forum calling out "stupid posters". Vinegar rarely attracts bees. Posting on MB's will somehow it seems, always garner some negativity. Nature of the beast, I think, especially when one starts an entire thread calling out stupid posters. You are right... there are some topics that get beaten well beyond death, and are just rehashing old opinions over and over. I found your topic starter interesting. This site did recently however, change the forums around some. People in the draft forum, while it may not get as much traffic, are more interested in topics like this, and are generally more tuned into the draft and college prospects. Off the soapbox. As far as his forty time goes, there are many variables involved. the surface, was it manually or electronically timed, etc. that is why the combine is so important. Same surface, same timing mechanisms. Pro days for players that skip the combine are usually much better than what is measured at the combine. These kids want their numbers to look as good as possible. So do their agents. Any non-combine numbers have to be taken with a grain of salt.
I'm not trying to give you a hard time BC, but that's not a fact, that's hearsay from his brother, and right now every player {and those close to him} tend to inflate the numbers, happens every year, then they don't hit that number at the combines BUT SOMETIMES IT'S TRUE .. sometimes they do hit their proported number, or even exceed it .. that's why you have to wait for the combines before you can put it in the books as a fact Just to be clear, I'm not suggesting his brother is exaggerating, he may be telling the truth, I know AG looks fast too me, but exaggeration is common at this time of year so it's understandable if some folks are suspecious, waiting to see what the stop-watch says at the combines, when it becomes official
Well, what was your point then? What, maybe he runs a 4.34 on another track? Anyway, if the OSU track was so fast, then why did schlegal run a 6.9? You were being a dick on purpose, and you know it.
I agree with big cotch, people on this board are so negative and skeptical they never take anything at face value. I have countless times given some information but am ridiculed and everything. This is why i will never post anything inside again, that and its just not a good idea if anyone in the org reads it. but if anyone who is a good guy pm's me i'll let you know.
No as others have stated, running on that track means very little, since it is not official, it inflates to the advantage of the runner, whats your deal anyway, I am not saying he is slow, but I also know enough not to take those numbers for face value, which is why they have the combine or else every player would just run in their own school.
In my opinion AG will not run a 4.29 at the combine. if he does, i will look to you for all the ohio state inside scoop i can get my hands on!@#$
I can buy it... He reminds me of Tim Dwight. But if we went WR at 25, which wouldn't bother me if free agency went well, it should be a big guy. Robert Meachem, Dwayne Bowe, Sidney Rice, Dwayne Jarrett (By some chance) etc..
I heard on an Ohio State broadcast that Gonzalez was actually a speed receiver but transformed into more of a possession guy because they already had the faster Ginn on the other side.
4.29 at a Pro Day means crap. Look at Virginia Tech. Their players all run faster than the speed of light at the Pro Day. That's because VT fudges the times, fudges the track. Hell, the track probably isn't even 40 yards long. I could run a 4.3 at the VT track. I'd bet money that Gonzalez doesn't touch 4.3 at the combine. He'd be lucky to be sub-4.45.
Big Crotch went nuts on somebody just because they questioned the validity of a 40 time. They were completely correct in questioning it.
dont talk shit about someone who has already been banned, its a sign of a coward...just like someone who talks shit on the internet thinking it makes them a tough guy
