Just want to relay some info I heard today. I buddy of mine went to college with Nick Gonzalez-- the brother of Anthony Gonzalez. He told me that he was training with the OSU camp and he ran an unofficial 40 in 4.29 the other day. That would have been the fastest guy last year, and may be again this year. Anyhow, I don't really like the idea of drafting a receiver early, but this pick wouldn't surprize me. Apparently, his grades are amazing, he's an Academic All American. Looking at last years draft, we really seemed to put a premium on smarts, and I wouldn't be shocked to see us take him with one of our first 2 picks. Just a little tidbit for those of you who are tired of the same old debates.

This should be in the draft forum, and the college tracks are notoriously very fast.

you know what, fuck you and fuck this site. Any time someone puts up info, they get shot down by some asshole. This isn't my shitty opinion, it's fact, coming from the kids familly. The guy ran a 4.29-- I don't care where the fuck he ran it. You people are just looking for the negative in everything posted on here. Can't anyone just take shit for what it is? Sorry Mods, but the last 2 responses do nothing positive for this site. At least my rant may make people think before bashing original info. Perhaps next time I'll just start up another Turner vs Leon thread, or another one bitching about how brick isn't as good as Mcneil, or how vilma doesn't fit the 3-4. Same old recycled bs on here-- finally something new, and imo interesting and this is the reaction.

gonzalez never striked me as a burner or even close.. but we will see at the combine. i think he will run 4.4 or 4.5. he had a breakout season this year. he is a better overall reciever than ginn.

If I get banned, I understand, but this is just the typical response by someone being an asshole for no reason. I put up info that no other draft site, radio station, or fan forum could provide, and get shot down, when I was doing nothing more than relaying new info to fellow Jets fans. Thought some would appreciate it.

LOL He was just saying your original thought should be in a different area. Relax man it is just a message board. But you are correct those threads are old and tired.

    I appreciate it, BC

I understand the frustration, but you need to let it slide .. if it don't apply, let it sly .. just focus on the feedback

I like AG a lot, I projected him in the first round in my most recent mock, #30 to the Chargers, and I think he will be a late 1 or early 2, I've felt that way all along, since before he declared, that if he declares he'll go higher than some folks suspect

This kid actually matched Ted Ginn play for play .. if you watched OSU this year, he was actually more of a GO TO GUY on a number of occasions, and he's a VERY talented player .. I think he'll make an immediate impact for the team that drafts him, even if it's out of the slot, a bigger immediate impact that some of the WR's who are drafted higher .. this kid is POLISHED and ready to make plays on any level

Lastly, I'm not surprised if he runs a Sub 4.4 .. he looks like a Sub 4.4 Guy when he plays, he plays fast, so it wouldn't surprise me in the least

AG can turn into a better pro than Ginn .. it's possible, like Coles became a better pro than Warrick .. Ginn is more electric, but AG is more polished and steady, better route runner with great hands, heck of a WR in his own right

how could you judge me on my post? i asked if you thought he was lieing? i didnt call you a dumbass or anything. alot of people are not looking for negatives, theyre just refusing to believe what all the "experts" say.

look up the stats, almost every one runs slower at the combine. yes hes a fast kid, yes hes faster then ted ginn, 4.29? doubt it.

Also you're just mad because you started the thread and you wanted everyone to like, and agree with you.

I agree, MC is right BC, the private workout numbers do tend to be inflated

And I also agree that AG is fast, but not faster than Ted Ginn .. Ted Ginn is a human blur

But we'll findout for sure at the combines, MC is right about that as well

Having said that, I'll be surprised if ANYONE runs faster than Ted Ginn at the combines

For a guy who runs a 4.2 he plays more like a possession type.

The team that drafts AG will never regret it

Barring injuries, they will never regret that pick

Now I don't think he'll get past 40, IMO he's a LATE 1/EARLY 2, but if he ever fell to the Jets at 57 it would be a heist

Geez, calm down I didn't say he was slow, nor did I say he was bad, just that the 4.29 isn't really a 4.29 at the college tracks, I am sure he probably will run in the 4.4-4.45 range if he can run that fast in a track. If you are going to go berserk over that then you may have problems.

See, this is why you're an idiot-- there was nothing to agree, or disagree with on my first post!! I didn't even say that I like the kid, or that I think he would be good. All I said was facts-- I stated the time he ran and stated that he was smart because he was an academic all american. About the only thing I said that could be debated was "don't be shocked if we took him" and that was pretty much based on the fact that last year we put a huge premium on smarts, which cannot be debated. As for the 40 time, you can doubt the numbers all you want, but they came from his brother-- who I have met.
