Now that we won, 2 games in a row, "Who will win?" poll is back. I hate Pats with a passion. We will lose. But I hope we don't lose big. Fucking Massholes will be on full force now that they are 8-2. Would give my right arm for an upset but won't happen. Go Jets!
I gave up and watched the last part of Bucs Pats. What an amazing game. Both those teams are legit. It absolutely kills me that the Pats had just two bad seasons of 4-13 and they are back at the top of the AFC. I just can't believe how this is possible while we suck decade after decade after decade. I literally can't even. Meanwhile the Bucs are back too after Brady. Ex Jets coach (who sucked here) and retread QB - and they are probably one of the best teams in the NFC. Literally why couldn't Todd do that here? I thought he was a bust like Rex. What evil magic permeates the Jets where even good coaches appear inept and clueless?
We play stupid, one dimensional football and we will lose and lose big. Not only does Fields need to prove he belongs in the league, Engstrand also needs to prove he's ready to be OC as his game plans are bland and without rhyme or reason.
Fields needs to sit if TT is ready. We need to evaluate the young receivers and that is not going to happen with Fields in there.
This is a bit reductive, but Kraft grew up middle class (his father was a dress manufacturer), had a paper route as a kid, went to public school in the Boston area, went to Columbia on academic scholarship, then MBA from Harvard, and built a business into a powerhouse. Woody.... well you know what his background is. Born into immense wealth, a jackass who never worked a day in his life. Again, it's a bit reductive, but I would suggest there's something to it.
Not saying every guy born with a silver spoon in their mouth sucks but Jets need a self made millionaire to buy the team. Woody Johnson and his douche bag son Brick will run this team to the ground. I hope NFL interjects one way or another.
Maybe you're right. Want a crazy stat? Kraft has hired exactly four head coaches during his 30-year ownership of the Patriots. Two of them (Pete Carroll and Bill Belichick) are first-ballot Hall of Famers, and Vrabel also looks like he's going to come good. Want a crazier one? That isn't even close to the best record of hiring coaches. The Steelers have had three coaches since 1969, and all three of them are (or will be) Hall of Famers. Meanwhile here we are on our ninth HC since 2000. This spread should not be mathematically possible.
Kraft's son gets nosy too, just like Brick. Belichick hated him from what I read. He was the one who wanted Hoodie fired. (actually maybe that's a sign for the positive for him) Doesn't seem to have mattered.
Daniel Snyder was a complete tire fire as the owner of the WFT. He was self made. David Tepper (Panthers) and Shad Khan (Jags) don't seem to be any great shakes, going through QBs and coaches as if they want to be the Jets. Meanwhile Clark Hunt and Art Rooney are third-generation heirs operating perhaps the two greatest franchises in the NFL. Jets need the right owner, I agree. I'm afraid the NFL is going to get the richest owner, which ain't the same thing.
Getting back on topic to the game ... I am going to sound like an idiot after my ranting, but I have a feeling this could be a trap game for the Patsies. They are coming off a really hard fought, physical game while we are coming off ... whatever that was. They haven't had a bye yet, so likely will be carrying some injuries. They gave up a 50+ yard rusher for the first time this year (53 yards). Their special teams is up-and-down - they had both a KR and PR TD earlier this year, but gave up an on-side kick in their last game. Drake Maye is playing like an MVP, but he just threw another pick, and their offensive line is going to get him killed - why not next week? I'd say there is an 80% chance the Jets lose this game, with a 20% chance that we pull off a low-scoring upset.
We are losing this one. My hope is to be competitive, I can see Maye destroying us with his legs and arm.
